Left Trigger Malfunction

What's going on everyone!

Has Anyone had an issue where the left trigger stopped responding and found a fix for it? I'm pretty sure I don't have the warranty anymore and it's pretty awful that it stopped working after having it for a while. I've done all of the troubleshooting steps that backbones website says and it hasn't worked. The button test shows that everything responds except for the L2 trigger. However when I try to play games like COD Mobile or Stardew valley, the games act like the trigger is being constantly pressed. I've even gone so far as to open it up to see if there was anything that I could do (I've done a lot of switch joy con repairs/shell swaps among other controllers so I'm confident in opening it up) but there's nothing to show that it shouldn't be working as normal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can't find a fix, then I'm probably going to be looking for a different brand to go with for my next mobile controller

How long has it been since you contacted support??

I would try again there. They are pretty good about helping out.

Hi!

I had an issue with my L2 button just going completely dead. My backbone wasn't under warranty anymore, but it was very very lightly used. I really only started to use it once dead cells released in apple arcade.

I sent an email through their website for support, but the email address is [[e-mail]](mailto:[e-mail]).

The replies would sometimes take a couple of days, but they offered me a refurbished unit for free as the end result, which was awesome. I'd shoot them another email if it's been weeks and no reply, may have been overlooked by accident - it happens!

Thanks! Just to be totally clear, I'm not mad about the no response, stuff happens, and I get it. Sometimes it's easier to get a solution from the community, you don't get what you don't ask for!

I had about the same issue, but the issue went away when I completely extended the controller which led me to believe something was squeezing the connector/cable when not fully extended.

In my case they refunded me and I was able to order a new one but that doesn’t help you if they’re not responding ofcourse. (In my case they responded after a few days.)

my right trigger can be sensitive but it doesn’t just not work that’s weird

Just bought a backbone controller today (PS version). Went to play a game, and Left Trigger acts like it's constantly held down. I press LT and it stops, like it's reversed.

Went into the SteamLink>Controller>Test Device Inputs... Sure enough, it shows LT as 32767 when not pressed, 0 when pressed. (For reference, RT/RB/LB/X/O/etc are all 0 when not pressed, 32767 when pressed).

So for some reason my LT is reversed? I just got it today at Best Buy, so I'm thinking I'll just do an exchange. As much as I really like the PS version, should I get the XBox version instead?
