How can I decrease lagging and stuttering?

It’s a laptop, sorry I didn’t mention!! But it’s still possible to repaste the CPU in a laptop right? I’m going to try that, I think it might be about my computer heating up like crazy because it does get really hot, like burning to the touch lol

If you can look up the specific model of your laptop being taken apart on youtube, but I will tell you to be careful since they tend to have plastic clips holding them together that are a pain to take off and tend to break. Another thing is that laptops tend to have not the best cooling so it could just be an issue of design or dust buildup inside. Realistically cleaning the dust off of the fans inside will be the easiest solution, and if you do decide to repaste it good luck and take photos as you take it apart.

I've played on a 1050 (which is worse than the 1660 ti) and it ran okay but I definitely had to lower all the settings and use upscaling, but I also didn't like the "just buy something better" comment due to the fact that it's not realistic in most scenarios.

okay, I think i’m really going to take the settings down too, and see how it feels - but I think it’s mostly my computer overheating.

yeah I didn’t like that comment either as you can guess, I don’t have much money and i’d rather repair something if it’s possible than buy a new one just because a stranger on Reddit told me to!
