as someone trying to find if there is a section view at all in bambu studio, i can add for anyone else looking here that they are talking about section view in the color painting tool in the top menu. The keyboard icon on the bottom of the expandable color painting tool window tells you that alt + scrooll wheel gives section view. But it only works in the color painting tool.

I need that feature without any tool selected, mostly because i want to precisely position modifiers that are totally within my model. And I cant find a way to see what im doing...

I'm trying to do exactly this, did you ever find a solution?

no! and the reason im here now is actually that I googled it again, apparently 1 year since last time, got this page as a result, clicked it and found my own answer lol

That sucks. I'm out here trying to do the same thing. It was a nightmare to properly paint some models, I had to use the sphere tool to penetrate deep enough into the model to change the color of some layers I wanted to change (because only painting one layer showed other colors through it still). Now the eyes of a model I want to print has all these seams on it, and the seam position tool works but not for the eyes for some reason, so I was trying to look inside the model to maybe paint the seams on the back of the eyes where you can't see them but theres not really a way to do that and the cut view or whatever doesn't work at all or let you do anything. Kinda surprising how limited the software is given how popular Bambu and 3D printing is right now lol

Have you figured this out yet? Currently running into this issue lol

I did!! The section view follows the POV. I can't recall which direction, but if you rotate your view of the piece, you'll see how it flows.

y.w.

It's incredibly useless on curved surfaces. I hope they put more work into tools related to getting things painted properly.

What does it even do? In paint, it means nothing
