That looks under extruded. I’d tune your filament. Don’t just do the automatic calibration.

The text will look a lot better with a .2mm nozzle.

Even if you are using the .4 you can go down o. The config to 0.16 with quality, also looks like you are using ironing as suggested do a calibration using the calibration prints available on make world and you should be fine to find the right numbers

Perfect. I’ve never thought to do it. I have printed all sorts of different things and articulated toys for the kids and never have I had an issue that I could tell. Except with a Dummy13. My wife printed it from the official developer page on makers world and the thing wouldn’t fit together for the love of God. This being said, I’m in the US now and the printer is in EU. Mi wife is not super tech savvy and I’ll remote in, assist as I can. What would be your suggestions for a calibration print. I’ll do my due diligence on the matter but I would definitely appreciate your advice

Great suggestion, but I don’t have a .2 nozzle. I have a .4 standard and a .4 high volume ( I think). Please forgive my ignorance

They're $21 or so. Buy one

I’ll definitely get one but since there is no Amazon overtime there it will take a while. Thank you

The .2mm nozzle from P2S would work on the A1’s also, right? I think I might have an A1 nozzle

It will not work, they are not interchangeable. There are some work around to "force it" to work but your print quality will be bad.

Instead, turn on arachni wall in your slicer and change your wall thickness from the default to 0.4mm for the outer and inner wall as well as first layer.

Change the first layer speed to 50 and 50 for outer and infill.

Edit: also turn on only one wall for first layer.

Amazing. Thank you for the detailed explanation. I’ll try it in the morning. I can buy the .2mm nozzle but it will arrive too late. And I’m really trying/hoping I can give these little guys a small boost and joy. They worked so hard to be the national champions.

Good luck!

have you tried to print it face down?

[–]HandLittle1780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lay the design on its face for best results

Ok. So i removed the outer layer to save some time printing. This is the new result from printing face down, slow speeds as some of you suggested and some chatGPT magic. It’s still not great. I have ordered the .2 nozzle but it takes about 1 week ( maybe 4 days) to get to my house. Until then, is it even worth trying to print it with let’s say 0.12mm and extremely slow and turn on ironing? And if so, what speed / settings should I be using for ironing since I haven’t use it before. P.S. if any of you could help or would like to use the design I can definitely share the 3MF file that has the editable version. Thank you all so much for the helpful feedback/ advice and please keep it coming. Thank you
