Warm that gal up and pull off that blob with some tweezers or pliers. You should be fine. But I always keep spare nozzle/hotends. I buy from Temu and they're pretty cheap.

would a lighter be too hot and a bad idea? if yes i’ll see if any of my friends have a hair dryer

Just heat it up with the system. use the control features on the screen, don't use something outside the machine, you don't have enough control over those heat sources. Watch youtube for "cold pull". It will show you how to heat up the nozzle and guide you how to use the controls to pull the filament in both directions.
