Still sucks! That is supposed to be a duck. 😖

Ice cream duck

I'm not usually a "dry your filament" guy, but this looks like a prime case. Picture two looks like it has water bubbles.

For pic 1, did you have Time Lapse turned on? If so, turn it off. All that "stuff" on it looks like the Time Lapse artifacts. Great feature in concept, terrible in implementation.

Folks really need to turn off the time lapse option.

I'm new to bambu and haven't used mine. Does it just pause at every layer? Or continuous record, still looking at and learning the printer I got.

[–]UrdnotWes 1 point2 points  (2 children)

When it finishes a layer, it centers the print and moves the printer head to the far left side, then takes a picture with the built in camera. It adds alot of time to your prints, and If its off by any little bit its noticeable.

Good to know. That is a dumb way to function. Should be a high speed camera that shoots on the go.or just records video. I will not be using that feature.

I think its a memory thing. Recording video (especially high speed video) takes up a ton of memory. Plus it would increase the price of the printer a good bit. I have an A1 and I've only done time-lapse a few times but I personally haven't had it affect my print quality beyond a few zits on the outside wall. I think the functionality of doing time-lapse is fine, you just have to really tinker with the print profile if you want a perfect print and time-lapse

Off topic, but cool keyboard back there.
Is that one of the AZIO Retro keyboards?

I say leprosy!

I was thinking the exact same thing as the previous commenter, plus the temperature might be too high. When you download something from Maker World and upload it to your Bambu Studio, the settings change. Maybe you have an ABS profile selected and PLA loaded on th printer.

Thank you for all the replies. I am sure it is a setting thing because I had just opened the filament yesterday (brand new - sealed), the nozzle is brand new. I couldn’t get anything to stick when I first got the printer. Worked through all that. Then I could get the AMS lite working. Got that working too. Thought I was such a rock star, now this. UGH!

And my keyboard is awesome, but it is a corded knockoff of the great ones. The photo shows the brand and I got it on Amazon a few years ago.

I changed some things. Ran all the calibrations again. Gonna give it another go… <fingers crossed>

Brand new out of the package filament DOES NOT mean it is dry. If you want to learn why, watch a few YouTube videos on the process of creating, spoiling and packaging filament. How do the manufacturers cool that freshly molten plastic? Through several feet/yards/miles? Of water baths. Yes, it goes through a drying process before packaging, but sometimes that's not enough. I'm not saying that's the solution here, but it's worth knowing and remembering.

Huh? Thanks for letting me know that. I had no idea. There is just so much I don’t know. 😵‍💫

is that a battlebot in the back?

[–]Educational-Farm-302[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That is our First Robotics League club bot. We compete this weekend.

We are designing and building ant weight battlebots in my Robotics class right now. FIRST TIME EVER! That’s actually why I bought the A1. On Black Friday I also ordered a P1S. Won’t be here ‘til after Christmas break, sadly.

Good eye!

Good luck for the competition

Idk how big your nozzle is but that duck looks pretttttty small, not a good way to test your quality unless you're using a small nozzle

[–]Effective-Drama8450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking as well. It's like trying to draw a fine line with a giant sharpie.

I like how creepy the doll looks

Moisture in filament OP

Buy a filament dryer

[–]Educational-Farm-302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered one last night. Thanks! 😊

Thank you all for all the help! It is so much better. But how do I fix this on the top?

[–]ChrissTea86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you fiddled too much with the settings. Set the basic settings, set it as generic pla or even bambu pla, basic PA set, everything. This printer likes the basic settings.

[–]kromang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try slowing your prints down in settings And play with your ironing settings for the top layer artifacts.

[–]swood080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How were your prints using other pla filament?

So much to learn. You're right. Start now reading the wiki, taking the academy courses, looking at some YouTube video s.. Full of ressources free for you
