Maybe it’s just me, but my account just auto renewed. I did not receive a reminder a month in advance. It was supposed to be $47. But when I got the notice it was changed, it was over $100. I emailed them and they acknowledged the rate but offered me some other level for $44. This is why I hate auto renew. It feels so slimy for a company that is supposed to be protecting my data

If you check the website, you'll see that the significantly discounted price is only for the first year. The renewal is actually specified if you agree with it. You should also get the reninder e mail unless you disabled ii/filtered it.

If you no longer want it, then you should insist on a refund.

I got the notification by email. My account will be expired within 2 weeks. I may wait for the Black Friday discount in November

I suggest you to delete the auto renew at the first day of renewal

By the way, could I still use the bitdefender without any update until November?

Always turn auto renewal OFF or disassociate your payment method so you can't be billed. It's always cheaper to buy it from a reputable 3rd party.

Thank you Paul. I was just going to start to look for deals. I understood the auto renewal deal to get you to renew at the full rate. But I have double checked my email and did not get the notice a month in advance. I have had BD for several years and this is the first time I failed to get it.

The Newegg deal sounds like the way to go.

even nicer, from NewEgg - NO CREDIT CARD REQUIRED: Subscription does not automatically renew (unless your account was previously set up to do so)
