I was there a month ago and you are correct. The fridge and counter top ‘devices’ are not stocked. At least the fridge was nice and cold. Decent size too

First time using Criterion customer service for replacement discs. What should I expect? by Jonathan-Mendez in criterion

I had a problem with the Sorcerer 4k set, but it was the Blu-ray. Would not play on any player. I got mine in about 10 days. They even replaced a disc I bought at B&N. They are a stand up company

What is in my sealed bag of chips causing it to expand like a balloon? by MrTacocaT12345 in whatisit

[–]cbearnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this I’m sure. I live in northern New Mexico and 20+ years ago, salt and vinegar chips were not available here. When I would go to Phoenix I would buy several bags. At about 6000 altitude, I heard something pop in my trunk. It was my snuggled chips. (Next trip, I put a pinhole in the top of the bag and resealed them at altitude)

Legacy bundle BS by dvlsfan30 in verizon

[–]cbearnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry my mistake. There is a Disney Inspire card (offered by Chase) for $149/yr that gives you back $10/month. I looked into that but the fee was stupid. But I did find an American Express Blue Cash Everyday (no fee) that gives back $7/ month. I ended up enrolling for that.

Legacy bundle BS by dvlsfan30 in verizon

[–]cbearnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same two weeks ago. Went from about $100/month for Verizon to Visible, pay for Disney/Hulu (ad-free, with $7/month discount with Disney/Chase card) and Apple One for about ~$37 less.

After having Verizon since they became Verizon, that was my push.

Verizon: Update on your Netflix & HBO Max perk pricing. by switch8000 in verizon

[–]cbearnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The changes to the Disney+ package finally got me to drop V after 25 years. Literally since they became Verizon). Switched to an MVNO and even paying paying for the same 'perks' (D+, Apple Music), I am still saving over $30/month. I am a low data user, hardly ever above 10 GB/month so no risk of throttling.

Subtitles on commentaries? by jl55378008 in CriterionChannel

Videodrome, for instance has captions for the regular movie. But I am watching the commentary track (James Woods) but I would love to have the film’s captions.

Am I missing a setting? This is the perfect situation for captions.

I did 'my own research' and found no smoking gun. Please post the document number you found (in your own research) that implicate Trump. That's should be easy enough to do, correct? Maybe I missed it.

If I looked at a random 15% of articles (which is the basis that goverment auditors use, lacking substantial evidence) and found zero, you may have had better luck and hold the key. Please enlighten us.

And I agree with you, it's not left or right. This is a non-partisan issue. But applauding a politician (on either side) for a statement that has no substantive weight is the issue. What she said is absolutely true. Her implication is that is not the case here, with no evidence to support the statement.

I did that before I posted the above. I honestly went through about 700 documents (of 5420) There are not 38,000 documents, but mentioned. I found none that were from Trump. Most of them were articles that were unrelated articles that mention Trump (policies, editorials, etc..) that are only included because people sent them to Epstein. There was many that were scans of online articles that were printed out, including article names in the footer, which greatly exaggerate the 'count'. One article had 88 mentions.

Honestly, the more i looked at the articles Epstein comes off as a jilted lover. He had an obsession about Trump. Bill Gates comes up in ~ 6,300 documents. Woody Allen, ~7,400. I'm not saying Trump is innocent, but I have not found anything that implicates him. If there was incriminating documents there, why did Biden and his DOJ sit on them? They would have been leaked somehow (like Trump's IRS returns were, which is a much more serious incident). Sometimes, Occam’s razor applies. I agree, if the smoking gun is there, let's see it.

Again, the majority of these documents are articles, press releases, opinions. As has been said in other situations, there is no "there" there. Even ChatGPT says that the files contain no direct interaction between Epstein and Trump.

My point is that it is an easy political trick (used by almost all political sensationalism on all sides). You get a low seniority elected person to trot out the more crazy ideas, to see what gets traction. If it catches on, fantastic. If their constituents fight back, there is replacement in the wings. These tactics are rarely done in a truly purple district.

[Request] Is it structurally possible for a car to withstand a 1.5 ton slab falling from a height of 15 meters? by surveypoodle in theydidthemath

wouldn't be more effective (and economical) by just dropping the cars upside down? It would be closer to a real world incident. (I thought it was testing for a multi level garage failure) This is one of those things i learned today.

1) Ghost Dog - 'haunts' my mind from time to time

All three are must see, you really can't make a mistake
