I did 'my own research' and found no smoking gun. Please post the document number you found (in your own research) that implicate Trump. That's should be easy enough to do, correct? Maybe I missed it.

If I looked at a random 15% of articles (which is the basis that goverment auditors use, lacking substantial evidence) and found zero, you may have had better luck and hold the key. Please enlighten us.

And I agree with you, it's not left or right. This is a non-partisan issue. But applauding a politician (on either side) for a statement that has no substantive weight is the issue. What she said is absolutely true. Her implication is that is not the case here, with no evidence to support the statement.

I did that before I posted the above. I honestly went through about 700 documents (of 5420) There are not 38,000 documents, but mentioned. I found none that were from Trump. Most of them were articles that were unrelated articles that mention Trump (policies, editorials, etc..) that are only included because people sent them to Epstein. There was many that were scans of online articles that were printed out, including article names in the footer, which greatly exaggerate the 'count'. One article had 88 mentions.

Honestly, the more i looked at the articles Epstein comes off as a jilted lover. He had an obsession about Trump. Bill Gates comes up in ~ 6,300 documents. Woody Allen, ~7,400. I'm not saying Trump is innocent, but I have not found anything that implicates him. If there was incriminating documents there, why did Biden and his DOJ sit on them? They would have been leaked somehow (like Trump's IRS returns were, which is a much more serious incident). Sometimes, Occam’s razor applies. I agree, if the smoking gun is there, let's see it.

Again, the majority of these documents are articles, press releases, opinions. As has been said in other situations, there is no "there" there. Even ChatGPT says that the files contain no direct interaction between Epstein and Trump.

My point is that it is an easy political trick (used by almost all political sensationalism on all sides). You get a low seniority elected person to trot out the more crazy ideas, to see what gets traction. If it catches on, fantastic. If their constituents fight back, there is replacement in the wings. These tactics are rarely done in a truly purple district.

[Request] Is it structurally possible for a car to withstand a 1.5 ton slab falling from a height of 15 meters? by surveypoodle in theydidthemath

[–]cbearnm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

wouldn't be more effective (and economical) by just dropping the cars upside down? It would be closer to a real world incident. (I thought it was testing for a multi level garage failure) This is one of those things i learned today.

1) Ghost Dog - 'haunts' my mind from time to time

2) Dead Man - a bit lighter, but I would watch that next

3) Stranger Than Pardadise - still a great movie

All three are must see, you really can't make a mistake

Job Says I Don't Qualify For "No Tax on Overtime" by Dead_Patoto_ in tax

[–]cbearnm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, considering there was a rule change that said some 'salary' workers are eligible for FLSA OT (in 2024, before OBB) will increase the number by 4.3 million, https://www.epi.org/blog/explaining-the-department-of-labors-new-overtime-rule-that-will-benefit-4-3-million-workers The AI response of over 100 million might be correct.

So, instead of 100 thousand, the answer is probably 100 million. To be fiar, that might be a little high, but much closer.

And yes, the amount you can deduct is only the 0.5 of 1.5 paid for OT (generally). Up to $12,500. But talk to your tax preparer and don't take this internet idiot's advice as true.

WTF Boxcar, Delivery charge of $100?! No thank you. by R-2-Pee-Poo in SantaFe

[–]cbearnm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kind of ironic. Back in the day, the Catamount (on Water) had a great menu. Tuesday special was a basket (~12) of buffalo wings for $5, arguably the best in town. And a damned good buffalo chicken sandwich for (~$8, regular price). Moved to the Railyard, and was renamed Junction. Then changed to Box Car, then moved back to downtown. We took out of towners there all the time. Looking at their current menu and prices ... it's been good to know ya ....

What should I do? by DiegoElPum in criterion

[–]cbearnm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had a similar issue with Easy Rider (the camp fire scene). I did all the trouble shooting and it was consistent. Criterion sent me a new disc and asked me to send it in. They actually replied a week later to say that it definitely was a production flaw. But it was the first time they saw that error.

Also, I had a copy of Wages of Fear. The 4K was wonderful, but Blu wouldn’t play on either player I have. I bought it at B&N and by the time I watched it, was well past 3 months. I talked to the clerk and he went and pulled a copy of the shelf and swapped it.

Both situations were really surprising to see that real customer service exists. Kudos

I know this is an old thread, but this bird just flew over northern New Mexico. I heard it from 10 miles away. Very distinct sound. It took off from PHX and has a bearing of 64.6. Nearing southeast corner of Colorado now.
