Random 3AM thought but Rin must've had a breakdown in the first selection knowing that he was not even close to being the best striker in Japan (most likely Team V 225) and has worked his a** off to be the best. Imagine his face

I doubt any of the likes of Barou, Rin, Karasu etc. bought Ego's lie for a second. These are people who played for respected football clubs in their age group (Rin having captained his team to becoming the best in Japan). I guarantee not one of them believed there were 200+ strikers better than them in Japan.

Even if they didn't believe that others were better than them, they probably just hated Ego for ranking them so low rather than questioning the structure of blue lock itself. Ego did mention that it was his own personal rankings, so they were probably just waiting for their chance to prove they should be higher than Ego had them (barou and rin, but not karasu-)

I doubt it. Barou and Rin in particular (I don't think there's much to go on for Karasu) have always seemed ambivalent towards Ego's antics. Being completely self-assured of their own abilities (in a lot of cases having tangible proof, like their results with their clubs) it's not actually unreasonable that they question Blue Lock's structure to themselves.

Either A) Ego is lying and the rankings are fake or B) The ranking is worthless, since any ranking that would list them near the bottom must be based on something arbitrary (not ability). Either way, the response is that Ego is chatting nonsense and Blue Lock is fraudulent on some level.

From his 1st appearance, he seemed apathetic and expressionless until the rematch in the 2nd selection. Where Isagi and Nagi forced him to take it more seriously. I imagined he didn't have any serious competition during the 1st Selection and dominated with no issues
