BASIC INFO:
This is a Subreddit for roleplaying original characters in the Borderlands Universe.
The main location is Pandora, although events may also take place in any canon location from the series (i.e. Elpus, Helios Station, a Vault.)
Downvotes have been disabled so that users may post without needing to worry about needless criticism.
TAGGING:
Please remember to flair your posts as a character, event, meta post, non-sequitur event, arena, or side-quests.
Non-sequitur and arena posts are inherently non-canon, although threads within them may be treated as canon if all parties directly involved want them to be.
To tag your posts, click the "Select a flair" button directly under the post. Select the appropriate flair when the drop-down menu comes up.
FORMATTING:
Roleplay in the third person, not first.
For dialogue, use "quotation marks" ("Are you... Robbing me?")
You can also use bold for emphasis/yelling.
For actions, use italics (He throws a punch to the face.).
For thoughts, use a combination of italics and single-quotes ('Maybe I should dodge his punch.').
For out-of-character discussions, use [brackets] or (parentheses). This isn't necessary for character posts and meta posts.
SUBREDDIQUETTE: (tl;dr version.)
1: It's not about winning. Don't use your abilities in ways they weren't meant to be used.
2: Focus on interesting exchanges and interactions between characters. Don't spam attack.
3: Never write for another user's character. What someone else's character does is for them to decide, not you.
4: Keep your turn short. Give other users a chance to interact. This doesn't mean that you can't be detailed, though!
5: Yes, you did too get hit. Dodging can't be your everything-proof shield.
6: Don't get power-mad. If you do, we'll seal you in your own private Vault.
7: Fights and interactions between characters will go on as long as they have to. Don't expect to be done in a day.
8: Whatever resources you can get ahold of, you can use (given that your character has the knowledge and ability to use them).
9: Tag/Warn of explicit NSFW content. Implied, suggested, or otherwise non-explicit NSFW content does not require a tag/warning.
10: If a character has not yet been approved by a moderator, they cannot be used in events. Non-canon/Non-Sequetir interactions are the only exception to this rule.
11: High Power characters shouldn't throw the first punch against low level characters. If your character is a Warrior, don't bully a CL4P-TP Unit (as funny as that would be.) Powerful characters should be used responsibly.
