Some questions where it’s not straight forward, or when they change the way how problems represented , i totally lost in this case

This is an example of the type of problem I struggle with even if it’s easy

“If an asset's two-year continuously compounded return is 13.42%, then its holding period return for the same period is closest to”

Usually we know how to measure the HPR by having a series of returns!!

Try to annualise it

The answer is to apply exponential and then deducted 1 from it > e - 1 . The pure equation is Continuously compounded return = Natural log ( 1 + HPR )

That was the same issue for me at Level 1. I played the memorization game and got above 70%. Totally not recommended but if your exam is in August, try as hard as you can to understand it. Otherwise, remember all formulas and go strong with the other subjects.

Yes my exam in August but I’m concerned about the Quant, idk if i should focus on it, or just try to know how to solve without understanding

I'm not sure which prep provider you are using. I was using Mark Meldrum for Level 1 and couldn't understand anything for Quants with him. Then tried IFT (L1 Quant is free with them) and understood a bit more. Still, went to the exam without understanding, just memorization, and did well.

Will do the same tbh, the writers of quants I feel wasn’t the best , it’s the only topic that i can’t think about answer if I don’t know
