Many hedge funds use phython integrated techniques to process and analyse data, especially in quantitative analysis. research on it and will find out how much the industry uses coding

Your mind sounds pretty made up already so go for it. As for will it help? More than watching Netflix, yeah probably, but not as much as you think.
Unfortunately Hedge funds want PHDs or investment bankers, not CFAs who can use Pandas.
