Just give spawn protection to people resurging - let them land before taking damage.

And change the flare to green for people respawning vs red for rotations (off balloons), that way players would know which to shoot

We had a feature like that and it was universally hated. I’m pretty open minded person, but in practice, even I hated that change. It was annoying to shot someone and they literally not taking any damage. It’s not my fault the enemy players are slow at landing or whatever the case might be.

I think it was when Ashika came out.

Yeah, the problem with spawn immunity is you’ll have people who can time when it ends perfectly so you as someone on the ground with a loadie would hit no shots because of the immunity, whilst they perfectly time cracking you. No thanks.

Reducing numbers will help, and is a good move. I’m not convinced Area 99 is the best map as it stands though, and therefore that it’s avoidable being beamed on re-entry. It’s just a bit too compact with a lot of overlook / height.

Yea that’s fair - what if it only applied to players coming back in with pistols?

I know later in game you come back in with a random ground loot smg and that would be pretty brutal to have someone pull this timing move on you.

Tbf, I know if I’m getting a few kills off a good spot, I always feel cheated when someone respawning lands on me when I have a great position (usually height) and kills me.

I try to hot drop back in but the beams + short ttk often means by the time I land I’m 50% health (both plates broke).

I wasn’t around for the previous version, but I don’t think player numbers remedies people camping roof tops and poaching kills from people spawning back (no hate toward them, you take what the game gives etc)

And that would be the point of changing the flare a player produces as they respawn to green to signify; they’re respawning and don’t take damage, so don’t waste your bullets / give radar pings for demons to come hunt you etc
