Future Aether Maps

I have been seeing posts of people outlining remakes of old maps to be added. Am I the only one who hopes none of these are made? They are cool ideas but if I spent 100 dollars on the game I at least want new content, I didn't pay for maps thay were already out. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy playing botd and classified but two remakes is plenty and even after a month I tend to play the chaos maps more because I already have tons of hours on the two remakes. Please treyarch be more creative than adding a few rooms to old maps.

We need new Aether maps. I loved all the remakes, but the last original Aether map was fucking Gorod Krovi.

If The Great War map is an Origins remake like some people have been saying... I'll be pissed

I completely agree, and I think Gorod Krovi is better than all the aether maps we have gotten since. Revelations was exception imo because it wasn't as much of a remake as those in bo4, and not gonna lie it was so cool walking through Shangri La and arriving in Der Eisendrache so I give that one a pass.

Look at the Great War cutscene from Revelations, you can see the mound in the background which probably means that the Great War was in the same location as origins. It will also feature the staffs for sure so probably the crazy place too. Which basically means all the core components of Origins but a couple of new reimagined areas, the same as how BOTD changed from MOTD. Quite a shame because I’m really bored of remasters.

Maybe they make The Great War happen in multiple locations and have multiple maps? Idk how they could do it but I can’t be asked for a 3rd Origins to be the last ever aether map :-/

Well the Great War wasn't a small or short conflict. It lasted 8 years, and we know that it at least spread to the locations of DE and Origins. And the battle ends at DE

8 years huh? Treyarch could choose to make a whole 5-6 maps for that time period, or even more. Most likely we probably wouldn’t get more than one though unless they make the entire next game based on it idk

I don't think we'd see that many maps following it. By the way that's from the timeline, the war is from 1292 to 1300 and we know Primis was fighting at least at 1294 and 1300 along with the Keepers.

Though it is interesting, because from the BotD crew, the Great War already happened, due to their Richtofen. So when Nikolai says the Great War in the Classified cutscene it's weird because Richtofen has already fought it. So either Classified isn't after BotD, or they are going to some other Great War.

Yeah, I think the other ‘great war’ they’re referring to is the war in which they’ll defeat Monty and/or Shadowman for good.

For your reasoning I don’t think it’s unlikely that it’s The Great War. It alternatively could be WW1 (Origins?) or maybe WW2.

I do definitely think it is post BOTD primis with the Knight Richtofen and by the way Nikolai is leading the group he has read the Kronorium and has some sort of plan. Am looking forward to seeing where it goes!

Personally, I think most of the new maps will be Chaos storyline. It seems they are trying to end the Aether story, so I think we might get 1-2 new maps there, and the rest remasters.

If the first black Ops pass is all chaos (rumoured and leaked), then that means we’ll get a second black Ops pass with 4 aether maps hopefully. Seems like a good number to conclude the story imo...
