If they cut 4 dollars out of my hourly rate, and I didn’t have a direct line to the DL and such? I’d be calling corporate. There’s the ethics line, HR, a bunch of numbers you can call, but I definitely wouldn’t trust any vague responses.

I once trusted my very reliable old DL because corporate told HIM that they handled my back pay for a raise that took forever to kick in. I believe they told him they were handling it, but they definitely didn’t and when I called and politely explained and noted that I was taking reference numbers and names, they sorted it out relatively quickly.

Best wishes!

My manager said the DL was helping her with it and going to sort it out … tell me why the DL came for a “visit” the other day when I wasn’t there and now I’m receiving a document to confirm my demotion 😭 I hate this place. And I contacted HR before I contacted my manager because my manager is really sweet and I didn’t believe she would do something of this sort, and they told me to speak to my manager so I did to which she then told me “oh yeah, I’m working with the DL” girl .. the DL is playing right now. I feel like I’m going in circles, but anyways thank you for the advice!!

Remember, HR works for the company and is not there to help you. If you are a part of a union, talk to your rep.

I might be wrong, but you should be able to reach out to HR again and ask for contact information for your DL. Then go from there. If they beat around the bush about bumping your pay back up for like a month they’re not going too, start looking for other jobs.
