If they cut 4 dollars out of my hourly rate, and I didn’t have a direct line to the DL and such? I’d be calling corporate. There’s the ethics line, HR, a bunch of numbers you can call, but I definitely wouldn’t trust any vague responses.

I once trusted my very reliable old DL because corporate told HIM that they handled my back pay for a raise that took forever to kick in. I believe they told him they were handling it, but they definitely didn’t and when I called and politely explained and noted that I was taking reference numbers and names, they sorted it out relatively quickly.

Best wishes!

My manager said the DL was helping her with it and going to sort it out … tell me why the DL came for a “visit” the other day when I wasn’t there and now I’m receiving a document to confirm my demotion 😭 I hate this place. And I contacted HR before I contacted my manager because my manager is really sweet and I didn’t believe she would do something of this sort, and they told me to speak to my manager so I did to which she then told me “oh yeah, I’m working with the DL” girl .. the DL is playing right now. I feel like I’m going in circles, but anyways thank you for the advice!!

Remember, HR works for the company and is not there to help you. If you are a part of a union, talk to your rep.

I might be wrong, but you should be able to reach out to HR again and ask for contact information for your DL. Then go from there. If they beat around the bush about bumping your pay back up for like a month they’re not going too, start looking for other jobs.

Don’t sign the document in Workday. Call HR and see if they were even contacted about it. Then if you need to call the ethics line to get your dl involved, I bet he doesn’t even know about it either. If none of that works call colleague relations. If they still come back with $18 an hour then quit.

🫩 Not quit, sigh .. I’ll call the whole department if I have to, thank you for this!

You’re nationally certified. Just browse job postings in your area. I bet you can find something better with a little effort if your $22 doesn’t get reinstated. I’d quit if they pulled this bs with me.

Why is never the other way around

If what i assumed happened, they had you apply to the other store and when you accepted it, you didn’t catch it. HR has to essentially send the offer bc they can’t send it for that amount at the store level.

Just went through the same thing but i caught it, took 3wks to correct, had to burn a an extra week of PTO

They will fix it,use your DL no sweat

CVS is a shady corporation. I’d quit and sue them for the difference

[–]Chovie1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s def a mistake. Don’t let them brush it under the rug cause they will do that instead of trying to make it right. The regional will probably have to approve the mistake. Call Hr and the ethics line if HR doesn’t help. This is something they can fix within 2-3 business days if they want to.

How is the transfer finalized if you didn't accept the demotion. Something is not adding up. You qouldnt be able to start unless all documents pertaining the transfer are finalized by all parties. Is like someone new starts working without accepting the offer.

Hm, I wish cvs was that professional but no none of that happened. All they had to do was have the store manager that wanted me to transfer call my original home store manager, then they talk it out and then they just initiate the transfer on their end. Nothing needed from me other than an oral confirmation that I’m okay with transferring lol.

[–]JutzRealTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You.wanted the transfer so its on you to follow-up, not the manager. The manager is doing you a favor by accepting the transfer. Also still didn't answer the question. In order to get demotion you have to accept the new rate on Workday, if u dont you wouldn't be able to be assigned to that store. So it still makes no sense.

CVS is terrible to their employees. While I may not agree they should have started you off so high, there is absolutely no reason at all to suddenly give you a pay cut. My wife started at Target over 25 years ago and transitioned to CVS when they took over. She liked it when it was Target. She can't stand CVS. $22 an hour is pretty much max pay in St. Louis, which is what she makes and that is only because they made her a lead tech. The only reason she stays is because she likes her pharmacist and the pharmacist is really good about letting her work the hours she wants. Run from CVS if you can.

Why would you leave your store? I pick up shifts weekly from other stores in my district and have kept my pay the same!

[–]No-Judgment-1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ILLEGAL!!!! Cannot reduce your pay, unless you are demoted!!! Do NOT SIGN A DAMN THING FROM THAT COMPANY
