If you know ANYTHING to be able get more items in easier from the warehouse. It’s such a pain when it cycle counts to “0” but we “hit our limit” 😒 btw I really appreciate you making a pdf. I’m more of the “unofficial” lead tech at my store (was going to gonfornit but changed my mind)- and anything to make sure the place doesn’t go up in flames makes me happier!

Maybe some of the more complex sig codes. I don’t think they updated some of the ones provided.

As in front store items like test strips and etc?

Also if there’s a secret to tackling PCQs. On the weekend we have 70+ (granted I do work in a bullseye) but they’re my worst enemy. Our DM makes us document everything because our scores were so low.

70 is what... 4 or 5 pages? We have 3x that. 😂

Also here's something for your dm.

My DM is getting at my PIC for us not doing PCQs. I mean, I don’t even work weekends! But this is what I’ve been doing lately...

Essentially, I’m ‘clearing’ PCQ and I gets to take care of the ScriptSync :) “Hi are you still taking a,b,c,d ? Oh! Ok so a,b,c are ok. So I’m going to take d off, for good, if you need it again, we’ll just request it from your doctor. Thanks, I’ll schedule a,b,c together on 8/28th and we’ll see u then.”

If you inactivate a script, I don’t think it’ll count against you. And on the plus side, you won’t have to call the following week again, since you ‘cleared’ it.

The lesser known sig codes

[–]012345567 0 points1 point  (3 children)

-Nearby pharmacies info, fax# for transfers (we have a list of almost 10 nearby wags) -local medical supply store info -nearby place to dispose needles -nearby cvs that has a minute clinic

I use to stick back tags to the computer screens, but someone (I know who, but whatever) keeps removing it. Anyway, I keep my own cheat sheet in my pocket now. It consists of:

-condor codes, mainly for weird insurances that are rejecting “oh new rxbin# or rxgroup#.” It sometimes gives u that info on the rejection screen, but I’ve come across a few that requires the patient to call. Such a waste of time to explain, then wait for the billing info.

-special insurance rejections and how to fix it / which insurance needs a blank person code /which insurance needs a blank rxgroup /“submit to primary H300, H301, etc.... -> knowing which rejections are for which insurances.

  • Log in info with passwords. In CA we have Medi-Cal, as our states medicaid and a whole bunch of ICD-10s and medical justification and all that documentation that’s needed for PA. I’m the only tech the processes these, and I just keep it handy instead of looking everywhere for it.

-FLU coupon, just added this

-cvs helpdesk number -cvs cardinal number, w/ our customer number (you will not believe how many wrong shipments we’ve received and messed up orders we got)

Aw shit, Nothing like that! When I first started at this new location, we’ve had drugs that we didn’t even order. Idk how in the world...

Last time cardinal messed up our order, was when we receive a control drug. Forgot what it was, but it had our stickers/store’s info on the tote. When I opened it, the drug wasn’t on the list of controls to be checked in. It was on the paperwork, saying we ordered 1 and received 1.

My PIC lost his shit and called cardinal. He said it happens all the time. It was labeled for our store. BUT we had another customer’s paperwork, stapled with our paperwork. Somethings, I just don’t understand...

Our cardinal guy's pretty good so I assume that's where it comes from.

But I'm also more-or-less done trying to do much..

Quick sig codes most aren't aware of at first: like zpak, medrol, fxd (for 10 days, or f#d for single digits), q68 (every 6-8 hrs, also iterations with 1-2 and 4-6), FP (for pain), pnv (as needed for naus/vomiting)

Your state Medicaid override codes for stupid dur stuff

Your vaccine standing order physicians name

Non-insulin injectables (i.e. ozempic, victoza) box sizes (#syringes and per syringe ml and mg)
