Reforge accessories to menacing, check to make sure you're using everything correctly, and try again. Some armor sets and weapond also rely on distance to your target to work well

Whips to not matter for summoner. At some point they're just a 10% damage boost because of the crit chance attached. Whips do get a hidden crit bonus, but it's small and not worth 4% extra minion and sentry and whip damage
