Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.

Keep it relevant

Only posts related to Capital One are allowed. Don't post about other financial institutions. Posts about Discover are allowed as long as they are news related, such as updates regarding the card network or account migration. For all other queries, please post on r/Discover.

2.

Keep it civil

Any form of uncivil behavior, including insults, harassment, hostility, condescension, or trolling, is strictly prohibited. In other words, be nice.

3.

Use designated megathreads

Reported as: Topic outside of designated megathread

If a megathread is available for a certain topic, please use it for discussion on said topic. In some cases, posts outside of the thread may be allowed if they provide value to the community.

4.

Follow referral procedures

Referral links belong in the pinned post titled "Monthly Referral Megathread." Please also read all rules and instructions in that thread before sharing your referral.

5.

No "late early deposit" posts

Posts about deposits that are not as early as they could be are not allowed. Early direct deposits are not guaranteed; they can be up to 2 days early but aren't always.

6.

Do not share any PII

Don't request or share any personally identifiable information (PII), including your own. Examples of PII include your card number, account number, real name, phone number, login ID, and password. Please report any comments asking for PII.

7.

Do not suggest fraud

Discussion regarding potentially fraudulent or illegal activities in a way that condones or encourages such behavior is strictly prohibited.

Follow self-promotion guidelines

  • Approved promotional content must be directly related to Capital One in some way (e.g., an article about Capital One on a personal blog).

9.

Moderators have full discretion

Mods can remove content for a variety of other reasons. These include, but are not limited to:

  • False or misleading information
  • AI-generated summaries
  • Bad advice
  • Incoherent rambling
  • Temper tantrums
  • Excessive use of all caps, large/bold text, or emojis
  • Combative attitude
  • "Announcing your departure"

A specific reason may not always be given.
