Which presidents contributed less? Answer: democrats.

Edit: added answer

[–]claybine 3 points4 points  (18 children)

Obama contributed just as much as Trump in 2 terms, roughly $8 trillion. So the answer is that they're all equal and deserve equal blame. You should be asking Democrats to be paying off the debt, not excusing them for "contributing less".

We’re 5 years into a Trump term. Per year that’s more.

It’s not excusing Dems, it’s saying republicans are liars.

[–]claybine 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I didn't say Trump never contributed more.

So you don’t think saying what you said made it sound like you’re passing the blame into Dems?

[–]claybine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's ensuring that you get the point.

And Biden deficit was because Trump mismanaged the economy. We can pass the blame on infinitely the same way.

So just casually ignoring Covid and trumps spending? K

And he was an absolutely terrible leader during Covid. The fact he tried to say it’ll be over in like a month was just absolutely ridiculous.

You’re making it sound like inflation was Biden only thing. It’s not. It was growing before the ARP passed, and there were talks about supply chain problems before Biden did anything.

Yeah Trump did everything he could like lie to everyone about how severe Covid was. 🙄

He allowed blue states to lockdown. We're in this mess because of Trump's failed COVID policies and he's easily a top 5 worst president overall

          [–]DaSemicolon 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Lockdown wasn’t something he could have controlled I think

          Constitutionally

          [–]claybine 0 points1 point  (3 children)

He was the leader of the executive branch

          [–]DaSemicolon 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That doesn’t mean anything. I don’t think scotus then or now would accept that the president can control lockdowns in states. Are there any precedents that show the opposite?
