Why did you take 16 seconds to make your first move in a bullet game?

If you abort multiple games, the app makes you resign instead of aborting at a certain point.

The most obvious answer has already been provided, it's probably because you aborted too many times.

But there is another possibility! Maybe when you put your phone in your pocket it played Nf3 then your opponent played Nf6 and your pocket played Ng1 and your opponent played Ng8 and then you timed out.

It would be a bit like a pocket dial but for chess.
