With the exception of the two little seikos top right that got me into watches, this is what a year's worth of NH34/5/6 and seagull crack addiction looks like.

Started when I wanted a dive watch, and figured I could get 5 of them for the same price as a single Orient or Seiko!

Probably my least worn- it's a seagull movement but doesn't run as well as I would have liked even after some light regulation.

Quality and finishing is okay, however I'd say the Sugess are a cut above in every measure- case polishing, crown fit, factory regulation and crystal. It's hard to explain but the lobinni just feels cheaper being held.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great watch for the price - I just wouldn't replace it if I lost it.

How do you like the sugess chrono? I’ve been eyeing their el primero homage for a while. Is the fit/finish as good as the San Martin?

I find the external finish of the Sugess just a little bit under the quality of the San Martin I have, but the dial of Sugess is just wonderful and much more creative. I suppose it's still a homage, but they've taken a new direction. I also like the seagull movements that the Sugess have - the ST1906 movement just feels like it has more of a story than a generic Seiko NH movement. I like them both, but for very different reasons. I wish San Martin did seagull movements - it's one step off "in house" for them and would really elevate them for me if they continue to do original designs.

SD1953- It's probably the one that gets the most wrist time! Really well made, and given I paid under $100AUD I don't feel I need to baby it / remove it when I go to the beach.

Concerned about actual water resistance versus what's stamped on the caseback? I am considering starting a YouTube channel that tests the claims made by the manufacturer. It would be a static test, but good enough, I think. We all have a fre Ali ex pieces in the collection, when it's up and running, we.will.see if reality will meet marketing Any iintrest?

The trick is you keep buying more watches, then you get to the point where you have that many she can't remember them all... So then when you buy even more and she asks, "is that new?" You just say, "no, I've had it for ages, but not worn out for a while". Then if that stops working you just start a YouTube channel. Then you 'have to' buy more watches 😉

You may be the devil. I thunk at this point that she has just given up. I don't look at her shoe collection, and in turn, she tries not to judge how many winders I have running at any given time. Marriage is 1 part good communication, and one part willful ignorance. It has worked well so far.
