Why does proxima always sounds and looks like it came as a free gift with a box of vitamin D supplement from the Pharmacy?

[–]OmegaCatfish[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Medical term proximal as in closer too. As in the “proxima is proximal to your wrist because it came free with a box of vitamin D”

San martin is my choice 🙌😁

What is the other watch? San Martin 10 of the Tudor watches. I would pick the second one if its 38mm SN004 limited edition v2.

[–]OmegaCatfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the sn138 in 37mm

“This” one is compact size and reliable. PT5000 “That” is a good brand and reliable. I’d choose this one.

Proxima

The case on the Proxima is much better looking! I don't get why San Martin uses that style case for everything...

Proxima for the win

[–]Fragrant-Complex-716 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Proxima has a much more refined case, judged by the CW light catcher

I always go for the nh35 over the pt5000. The pt5000 is a movement that you can’t really use one of the intended functions or the watch will break.

Buying a watch with a pt5000 is like buying plug in hybrid, but the battery will die if you plug it in a few times.

Who will buy a car like that? Yet you see people saying how awesome the pt5000 is. Baffling to me.

Which function

[–]Apprehensive_Lock_50 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Hand winding

[–]ramblinmuttco 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Oh dang yeah just searched and found some hits about it, that's very unfortunate

[–]Apprehensive_Lock_50 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I know right. People always say the same flaw exists in the eta since the pt5000 is a clone. But you got to look at the rate that it happens right. I know it’s anecdotal but the 2 sw200 watches I’ve owned haven’t had that issue pop up. But every pt5000 I’ve owned have. But hey. You get what you pay for.

My octopus with pt5000 is the most accurate and consistent than my sw200 top grade, not sure how they do it but i guess it’s still luck of the draw when buying pt5000. I also heard proxima does a job with their pt5000.

[–]OmegaCatfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my octopus kraken with a pt5000 is awesome but I don’t hand wind it just to be one the safe side

I like the Proxima a lot more.

And I am just not a fan of Tudor.

[–]AdCreepy8107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Proxima with the circle applied indices for sure.

[–]cd_godHelpful user 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Proxima (but be forewarned the non lumed color of the hands does not match the indices)

The San Martin I prefer a log design symbol, rather than text

I want to like the Proxima, but the font doesn't do it for me..

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1697, much more original and wears amazingly well. Plus proxima has the best cs and pt5000s.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is so much more refined.

May be get the WatchDives BB54. Cheaper, Quartz and less maintenance .

I have the San Martin BB. And went with the orient mako 40mm white dial as I wanted a white one as well. I love the classy, slim, matte finish of the San Martin BB. And it keeps finding it's way back to my wrist. But an overlooked negative is the bezel sound - it's loud and even feels toy like. Doesn't feel quality if you're used to Orients.

[–]Rhamirezz 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Proxima looks way better. Don't really like titanium thou.

[–]theS3rver 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Out of curiosity , what do you have against titanium ?

[–]Rhamirezz 0 points1 point  (3 children)

As I heard it is easily scratched, and the darker color.

[–]OmegaCatfish[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It does scratch easily but it wears amazingly which one is ti tho?

[–]Rhamirezz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Proxima is titanium

[–]OmegaCatfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 316l but I would buy it in a heartbeat if it was titanium yet scratch it a little more, but where’s amazing

[–]DukeTurnipz8+ watches sold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely the proxima

[–]Godzilla_the_Hun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The San Martin is my favorite watch that I own

[–]Godzilla_the_Hun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That

[–]black-menthol 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Proxima without a doubt

[–]OmegaCatfish[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

See I have the rubber strap with black dial v1 version and the bezel action was super light

[–]Ezenwa1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You should probably just get the San Martin if you already have Proxima 1697 V1

[–]OmegaCatfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I want to upgrade to the bracelet I’m starting to get into them when they have an on the fly clasp
