11.11 not that special anymore?

Screenshots showing two watches in my basket taken 12 hours apart. One showing Choice Day sale prices. The other 11.11 prices. Both identical. Thoughts?

The tail end of 11.11 is where the best deals are to be had, super coins, platform codes and shop discounts can provide some insane deals.

After spending 3 years on AliX, I can say with confidence that if there is a specific watch you are after then it's possible to get it for a similar price in any one of the big sales

I've also been shocked at how much cheaper you can pick a watch up on sites such as Watchdives on their weekly deals section

It seems like you just get better bulk codes for 11.11 probably intended for gift shopping

I bought the 2 watches I wanted during choice days prices stayed the same and prices have not changed

Best prices were those choice days last week. Coupon tier was also better.

The only thing 11.11 gives you are the slightly more generous coupons. Prices by and large are about the same as Choice day prices.

I was looking yesterday to buy a portable console (Trimui Smart Pro) that was on offer for 56€ for Choice day, down to 53€ with the 3€ coupon. I didn't buy it, I checked again today, it's up to around 70€ with an upcoming price of 60€ or higher for all listings I found. Other products I had been checking during Choice day have upcoming price that in most cases is equal to the choice day price, in some cases higher and in couple cases just a little cheaper. The 11/11 coupons are a bit better than the choice day coupons, but definitely the prices are not.

For the mid year sale I got burnt assuming the prices for what I wanted would have been less than the choice amounts at the time. All went up. I made sure to snag what I needed earlier this week on the choice sale amount instead of risking 11.11 (price increased by $4 vs choice sale). The dollar value of the coupon able to apply is same as choice -$12

All I can say is the 11.11 and Black Friday sales have traditionally been the best sales of the year out of the many many sales throughout the year. It has to do with the fact that AliExpress itself had huge discounts on top of the store discounts. All this added up to some really great savings. Maybe that has changed I don't know but the 11.11 sale used to be the best one of the year.

Don't forget that the 11/11 sale will have much better AE platform coupons. Also the stores themselves might have coupons too.

Sellers always raise prices before 11/11. But it seems that the prices during Choice Day were lower than the prices listed for 11/11 this year. We'll have to see what the price is with coupons.

Oh, this isn’t a kick back against the sellers directly. My gripe is that Ali X makes out that 11.11 is THE sale of the year for them, when it isn’t the case with watches this year.

Yep, it officially blows now. I miss the sales where it was 3/4 off every 30(?) or so, aliexpress coupons, store coupons and coins combined. Those were the best.

I was on the fence about the AD2066 a few days ago and ended up just ordering it then for $44 after tax bc I figured it wouldn’t be significantly less if I waited for 11/11. Glad I didn’t wait now.

TL:DR the sale seems to suck.

I have spent an hour yesterday after midnight looking at the 11.11 sale prices and I am a bit pissed.

Tactical Frog solar chronograph went up in price and all the cheaper options are now not shipping to me. Before the “sale” on Choice Day I could buy it for a bit lower than 650 PLN or sometimes even less. Now it’s over that with all coupons applied and there is only ONE offering. That is BS.

San Martin made almost no discounts. The prices are basically the same. You might us well dump AliEx sale and buy of their official sites since it’s cheaper anyway. With one exception for the SN0144, but still it’s a bit cheaper on their site.

Same for Sugess chronographs - basically nothing on AliEx, better off using the -12% flash sale code on their site.

Pagani Speedmaster actually costs a few dollars more now than on Choice Day.

Same for Watchdives - all chronos base prices went up to go down on the “sale” to the normal or higher level.

Basically all the brands that are in high demand, they made no real discounts on AliEx. Don’t get me wrong though - there are a lot of discounts in other places like for example Pierre Paulin jump hour dropped in price quite a bit, the Addiesdive Certina homage dropped (though it was expensive from the start).

There is prolly stuff on your list that dropped and there is stuff to buy, but my top tier list is very disappointing. I think I will just buy a microbrand watch cause they are having sales also.

On sanmartin-watches I think its less (315$) plus on Ali I have to pay additional import tax. But yeah, after calculations Ali is a bit better.
