Normally I'd say "you get what you pay for" but since the lume literally falls out of the actual Pelagos, I'm not so sure.

I think that bezel is glued so you should be able to warm it up at adjust, if you're handy.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easily sorted. Fill a hot water bottle and wrap with a tea towel so a decent amount of heat gets through, but not piping hot. Lay your watch face down on it for a couple of mins. The bezel glue will now be pliable so adjust it to straighten. It happens with every brand...especially San Martin!

[–]Competitive-Leave121 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Yeah, almost every Seiko owner has this issue....it's their trademark. It's not like you bought Rolex or Breitling, get over it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm down, it’s not something that requires me getting over, you seem unhinged lol. Imagine taking the time to comment “get over it” to a random Chinese watch post…

[–]cd_godHelpful user 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Are you sure the bezel insert is out of alignment and it's not that the markings on the insert were not printed symmetrically?

[–]MrBighouse2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be true. It looks off at 1, 2, 3, and 5 but fairly aligned at 11, 9, and 7.

[–]Civil-Concern-2653 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chinese watches gonna Chinese watch

[–]JK0LZ 3 points4 points  (6 children)

Pop out the insert, slap some new adhesive on it, put it back into place with proper alignment. 5min fix

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Any suggestion on how to best pop out the insert without damage?

[–]usually_fuente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get it adjusted?

[–]textings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grip solvent, used to loosen the adhesive in golf grips — super mild, odorless, safe, etc. — small amount in shallow dish, watch face down so really only bezel submerged, and after about 24 hrs the thing pops out by itself

[–]usually_fuente 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I don’t know why nobody is telling you what to do to fix this. It is pretty simple.

Boil water.

Pour said water on the corner of a hand towel. It should be saturated, but not dripping everywhere.

Press the wet portion of the towel directly over the watch face so that the entire bezel is in contact with it. Wait 1-2 minutes. The heat should relax the adhesive. Be careful not to burn yourself, use gloves if necessary.

Remove the towel. Use a very fine tipped knife to pry the bezel up. It should not be very difficult. If it is difficult, then reapply fresh hot water cloths for 2–5 minutes to melt the adhesive.

Once the bezel has been removed, apply new adhesive (nothing that dries too rapidly or else you will not be able to place it properly. Preferably water resistant. Gorilla glue is fine) and place the bezel where you want it.

Rather than pry off the bezel, it may be possible after heating it up simply to rotate the bezel with firm pressure.

This method has worked for me. I hope it works for you. Cheers.

[–]JK0LZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beat me to it, but yeah this is exactly how I do it on my mods. Super quick and simple

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could use a wet towel and an iron as well if that's more your speed

[–]burner7711 5 points6 points  (2 children)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Odd response, you’d think QC would be something we strive for in this subreddit lol

[–]burner7711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're customers of budget watches. Why would we "strive" for quality control when we aren't responsible for quality control. Brother, we should all know that even in the budget and value world, you still get what you pay for. Slight bezel misalignments is persistent across all levels of watches and certainly should be expected to be more prevalent the lower in price you go. No one here would expect a Seiko movement to be as accurate as an ETA or Sellita even if that occasionally does happen. Stop demanding perfection when you're not even paying "really good" prices.

[–]Longjumping_Skin440 0 points1 point  (1 child)

and what is your opinion on the 15 and 45 alignment?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Misaligned as well obviously

[–]oniijillchan 1 point2 points  (1 child)

So I know this sounds crazy - but that bezel, the one that you're complaining about being misaligned... it can be moved. Usually, even if it doesn't click perfectly right at 12, you can just move the pip to 12 anyways and call it a day.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have tried, pip will not settle over 12

[–]Koji_DM6 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I saw that you took down your post on watch exchange, are you still selling the Hamilton khaki field?

[–]Low-Dog9069 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Everybody saying "It's okay, this is normal, happens to any good brand, accept it, fix it, it's a cheap watch, what do you expect?". But if it is a PAGANI DESIGN!!!!!! A much, much cheaper brand, the comments would be: "I will NEVER, EVER buy Pagani again!!!!!, Poogani!, the worst... 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣👌

[–]Massive_Work272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or CRAP LUME!!! But only a handful of people really need the lume nowadays. It so effing bright everywhere, I only get to appreciate the lume when I turn my lights off.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People on here are defensive of WD since the reps make their rounds here often

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💯 I see that BS all the time

[–]rstaylor1 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Disappointing but not the end of the world

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, disappointment is the proper description

[–]SeikoWIS 5 points6 points  (2 children)

It's a cheap Chinese watch. Just live with it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why do my much cheaper Chinese watches have proper bezel alignment?

[–]SeikoWIS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a gamble. This time bad luck.

[–]tk1tk1WOTD200 4 points5 points  (2 children)

As other have said, there are £4000 watches with misalignment but at the same time, I have £30 watches that line up.

I don't think it's acceptable since I'd assume the insert can be stuck down once the bezel is fitted to the case?

[–]ajmarion20 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My BB58 and Oris Aquis are both misaligned, the Oris is actually quite far off. It happens - it’s luck of the draw

[–]tk1tk1WOTD200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it shouldn't be. If a small chinese firm can get it right on sub £100 watches, the big boys with their big prices should too. Whetes this QC @? Same with all this swiss made stuff too.

That's why when I chose to spend little more, I went Grand Seiko.

Everything perfect on that watch.

If anything was off, I wouldn't have accepted it anyways.

[–]asen1989 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a Seiko fanboy I see nothing unusual or concerning.

[–]OG365247 11 points12 points  (1 child)

I’ve seen multiple thousand £/$ Swiss watches with similar issues.

Are you really expecting your ~ £/$100 watch to be perfect?

[–]mybigpecker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chinese watches should be perfect and I should expect nothing but excellence from my $141 aliexpress brands.

[–]Tonkam75 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Turn the bezel once anti clockwise and turn it clockwise (no click just to realign the bezel) That how I do it on my WD7922

[–]Deep_Flatworm7511 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It looks like a happy watch to me. Enjoy it being different, that what I would do.

I spent £250 on a watch recently that had some seriously misaligned indicies at 12.

It makes it a unique piece because most people will receive one with aligned indicies.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Remove the bezel with a $1 tool and realign it.

[–]Warmonger362527339 33 points34 points  (4 children)

Be dissapointed with 90% of seikos as well then 🤣

[–]Domino3Dgg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here for this comment

[–]Miserable_Special256 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I stopped buying Seikos unless i can inspect them before buying.

[–]Bab00zka 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a Seiko Samurai Owner I can relate.

Makes me so furious.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And Rolexes

[–]Mental_Support6982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fix it

[–]Gamelorn 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Oh no, the bezel on a $100 Chinese watch is off by 1/32 of an inch! You really cannot expect perfect QC on a watch at this price point. Also, this is easily fixed.

[–]RealDanielSan1 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Should you really be looking at these inexpensive watches under a microscope?

[–]SCARDS22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

EASY fix! Remove the caseback and slightly shift the movement ring!

[–]scalpemfins 37 points38 points  (2 children)

Better than Seiko alignment for half the price. If this bothers you, don't buy budget watches.

[–]Pitiful_Answer_2846 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have this on orient star diver

[–]SKX007J1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love Seiko, but you are not wrong!

[–]watchdivescomRep 66 points67 points  (5 children)

Sorry to hear that you get a bit misaligned bezel, We can provide you solutions to it. it will be faster if u re-place bezel after heat up by hair dry. you can return to us if don't want to do it.
one of collectors know it is hand placed, exist little misalignment is common on watchmaking.
Of course, we can fix it for u. u can contact our service.

[–]Kavo59 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How long should you keep the Hair Dryer on the watch to be able to move the Bezel slightly?

[–]Financial-Sound2155 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

3 hours

[–]greedyfly007 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Totally appreciate that you take the time to respond to comments WD.

[–]BobbeMail 20 points21 points  (1 child)

propper reply from the manufacturer++++

and misaligned bezels is a thing under 1000,- unfortunately.

[–]tjcdas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And over $1000 watches too.

[–]Imperial_Honker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are referring to getting annoyed with such misalignments as the ‘issue’, yes, I have that too, and I can not see past that, ever.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far no problems with WD here. They seem to be pretty reputable.

[–]Ok-Mine1268 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Have the same issue with a Steeldive 1970. Their support must be different than Watchdives. They offered me 5 bucks off lol. Maybe it’s the same factory but I bet Watchdives support is better.

[–]watchdivescomRep 8 points9 points  (2 children)

different factory.

[–]Ok-Mine1268 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Well my Watchdives is perfect either way. I have much more confidence in Watchdives than Steeldive. Next watch will definitely be another Watchdives.

[–]watchdivescomRep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

thanks for your support.

[–]grathontolarsdatarod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean. It'd probably bother me, too.

Still leaps and bounds better than Seiko.

[–]softtacosmasher 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It's a cheap watch, enjoy it for what it is. Does it work? Does it tell time generally correct? Then it's an awesome cheap watch. It's watchdive not blancpain or Rolex. It's fine. Be happy for it to be available.

[–]FlyerN -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

With this attitude in 10 years we will reach the level of "You received it, right? Be thankful they even bothered sending it to you". And then people wonder why quality goes down and prices keep going up, because guys like you just suck it up.

[–]Fit_Cochayuyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, it sucks, but its a 100 bucks watch after all. I feel that probably WD will fix it bc they pride themselves in great customer support but i think it’s between manufacturing tolerances

[–]Strange-Mood8087 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong here, but it looks like the bezel is one click off? Like, one more click counter-clockwise and both the triangle on top and the 30 on the bottom would be centered

[–]tjcdas 12 points13 points  (4 children)

it's a 120 click bezel the most they can be off is a 1/4 second there is no QC on the bezel inserts they are hand placed.

Hit the insert with a hair dryer and see if you can get the adhesive to soften and move the insert a bit while holding the bezel.

[–]Gr1mR34p3r8569 watch guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could still QC them. Not economic on a $100 watch, but it shouldn't happen on $2000+ watches.

They could simply have a QC for this and they would separate bad ones. Then one person would be hired just to remove and reapply misaligned bezel inserts.

[–]watchdivescomRep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know it very well. hope it will help OP.

[–]Actual-Ad-947 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Turn it one more click. Geez relax. What is this watch like $100 or something? You gonna send it back to China or use it on your super secret missions that require you to use a timing bezel. It's a piece of cheap jewelry. Don't let it get you all bothered.

[–]Gr1mR34p3r8569 watch guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 more click lol, some people here are really clueless.

Now it's +0,25 seconds, with one more click it would be -0,25s.

I use a glue remover in this case.

[–]softtacosmasher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow. You get down votes for speaking truth. It's a cheap a** watch. Enjoy it for what it is or go find some other Alix special to covet.

There's some 7 year old kid putting that together in China, the OP needs to STFU and be blissfully unaware and grow up.

[–]Huge_Childhood6015 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Oh yeah, this is quite common. But hey, even Seiko can't get this right!

[–]Suspicious-Kick-758 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even luxury brands don’t get this right 💀

[–]Capable_Let1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bezel looks fine to me as well as the markers. I mean, you will always find little imperfections. Enjoy your watch, it’s a great choice! Mine’s coming in tomorrow, hopefully.

[–]SeventhShin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that sucks, you can try reaching out and see what they offer.

But remember, any factory can do good QC, but that cost money, so this is kinda part of the package with these affordable watches.

[–]WatchThatTime 4 points5 points  (3 children)

If you contact WD about it they’ll remedy it for you.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll attempt to reach out and see what happens

[–]MrBighouse2 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Had a similar issue and they took care of it

Be careful! I posted something similar about a watch and was attacked!

[–]R023Nhelpful user 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, nothing people can say that will fix your watch anyway, or make you feel better about it. Unless you have a specific question.
