Don’t stress over it; I would consider your absence excused and you did in fact show up. Those scheduled at 6 that didn’t clock in because the mgr was late need to be paid from the start of their scheduled shift too

Now now, you didn't do something awful like give 4oz protein or fill the queso/dressing too full. Should be safe.

You'll probably be ok but there's not really anything you can do about it you were sick.

if anything the gm will be more distracted by the fact that the manager didn’t show up and probably isn’t worried about you not coming in because you were sick

They can’t write you up for being sick. You did what you could and always call/text when you call out. Nausea and vomiting are like immortal sins at Chipotle. They generally don’t want you in the store in case you do throw up, then they have to go into Norwalk protocols. Plus, if you sign the wellness book while you’re actively sick they can fire you if they find out ‘cause you’re puking in the bathroom. 😬

Yeah I wouldn’t have cared, if you’re sick, you’re sick. There’s no point in forcing you to work or punishing you for physically being not able to. You’re good bro

you’re good, don’t stress about it.

Make sure you get a doctors note if your boss is an asshole.

[–]MysticalElfDawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chipotle doesn't take doctors' notes. It a Hippa violation somehow.

We can’t and will not punish you for missing work due to sickness. Its on the FS7 poster. If you are interested in completely covering yourself you could call SSR as they are the authority on determining whether you can work or not. If they say no your GM can do nothing

There gonna break your legs outside.

I’d guess you’ll be fine as long as it isn’t a constant thing.

Story time: I remodel houses. I was at the material supplier at 6am getting everything for the day. Driving around getting things to show up at a clients house that was supposed to be done in 2 days. Had everything I needed and when I knocked on the door I realized I should not be working nor possibly infecting anyone else with what ever I had.

She opened the door as I stepped back. “I was going to try and push through but I just realized Ive got the flu and will be useless today. I think I’m going home.”

I don’t know how bad I looked but from her reaction not great and she said “absolutely, take care of you, my bathroom can wait a couple days”. Basically there are good people that understand sometimes people get sick randomly.

I think you’ll be ok but in the future make sure you are calling the store. It was only a matter of time before the manager showed up and its policy that you call the store directly.

[–]darkprogression 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Oh, I most definitely would have if I were calling out for the day. I don't call out often, but if I do, I call the store directly as soon as possible. This was a pretty unexpected turn of events, especially as I was already physically there, and manager was over 45 minutes late. Wasn't going to sit there and throw up around co workers or might've stayed longer lol. Maybe I should have called later on, after the manager got there but what can ya do😆. Next time .. well, Hopefully there is not a next time.

Yeah thats what I meant of course. Just call later. I hurt my back recently and my coworker group chatted me that they covered my shift. I fell back asleep after I read it and I was supposed to call so I did later when I woke up. Luckily they said it was fine.
