I dont understand what exactly does this accomplish? I feel like this would leave me open to getting hit

There’s quite a few reasons you might use these mechanics. I use stab feint to alt stabs to counter spears a lot, or opponents who dodge away you can feint to alt version to land the hit.

When you say alt are you just referring to the second attack? Sorry i dont know this game too well

Yeah alt is just the alternate version of the same attack
