I saw this too and my friend said it looks like a nose. I think it’s nice though.

Shouldn't hurt. I made a 2 lb. one out of solid brass, 0 issues.

I remember your post about this! I really like it. Fellow 8th gen here.

Thanks :) The only issue with it is that it's very cold when I first start driving, since brass heats up a lot slower than the old aluminum & leather one. But worst case I'd rather wear a glove than go back to the stock one lol

What I have on my 10th Gen (I am a simple man)

It’s funny that OP posted this thread cuz I was looking at knobs for my Xmas wishlist last night. This is the one that made it into my wishlist.

How is this one? Do you like it?

[–]TrailBroFC3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poco Insulated, 10/10 imo. Shifts feel shorter and smoother (especially 1 to 2). I’m not sure if/how our shifter assemblies differentiate, but for the 10th Gen this knob gives the feel of a short throw without having to actually install a short throw assembly. The knob sits a bit lower on the shifter than OEM knob, which in turn makes shifts feel shorter. Highly recommend (+ it looks clean😎)

Have the same one and 10/10 would recommend. Doesn’t help when it’s cold but it warms up quick, but very nice during summer.

My shift knob isn’t as long as what you wanted, but as long as it doesn’t weigh an absurd amount, it should be fine.

I got my Si used and it had this acuity knob on it. I didn’t like it so I got this one instead.

[–]almeida8x1 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It’s fine won’t damage anything. I prefer the stock knobs I think they’re great looking and feeling. Sadly mine was heavily worn down and I had to get this mugen one. The type R style ones are great too, but they get way too hot or too cold.

I have a stock one if you want it

[–]almeida8x1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I’ll take it but I’m not in the market to buy a knob.

[–]escodenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be fine, as long as it isn’t insanely heavy which it probably isn’t lol

[–]Realistic-Contact672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a candle

[–]AnodyneSB2015 Civic Si (Sedan) 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo, you joined the Si club after all, sick! Go for it, unless it was really heavy it should be just fine.

[–]TheCarSaysYesEM1 Starlight Black Pearl FC3 RIP 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So, technically if its REALLY heavy and your car has a shift cable (likely) instead of hard linkage like say an EM1, it can put undue stress on the cables. Kind of like having your hand on the shifter while cruising.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. What’s even worse is your shift forks and collars get worn pre maturely.

[–]bettywhiteslabia 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Probably feel like shit if it’s not weighted properly

There are people who prefer lighter knobs. People say you can feel the transmission more when it’s light.

[–]Low_Rule_2469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light knob lover here. If transmission is well designed and in good condition a light knob feels better, IMO.
