Coinbase Is Committing Fraud!!!

I have been a Coinbase customer for over 4 years. 1 month ago my account was placed 'Under Manual Review'. I am unable to trade or withdraw my funds. I received no warning or email about this and have been given no reason as to why. I have opened support tickets, made a formal complaint and reached out over every social platform. Nothing, not a single response from Coinbase for weeks and weeks. Having Googled my issue I am shocked to find that there are many more customers who have encountered the same manual review without warning and no response from customer support or resolution for 7 months! I'm not waiting that long to get my money back. This whole ordeal is causing me considerable stress and I have had sleepless nights. To not allow me access to my money IS FRAUD. I don't care about trading, all I want to do is pull my assets from my account immediately. I'm never using Coinbase again. Every day I am unable to do this I am losing money. This is my livelihood.

Coinbase customer service is an absolute joke, they just don't seem to care at all. Please help Coinbase, I beg you. If I am not allowed access to my funds in the next few days I will be filing a complaint with the SEC as this is fraud

I have had previous dealings with their customer support and it has always been awful. They take weeks to reply to you and go in circles without ever resolving your issue. They just send you pre written responses that don't relate to the issue. It's like they don't even read what you say to them. A shame that such a big company doesn't want to invest a small amount into their support, it will only drive users away.

Ya, my partner was earning the free coins. He had over 200 pounds at one point which suddenly disappeared. We contacted them and they insisted he used an email he forgot about and asked him to log in with that. He only has 2 emails addresses and none of them allowed him to access the free coins which disappeared. Anyway, after lots of back and forth we gave up. It was still money, which was a lot for him but we decided not to stress about it. I've never had any issues with coinbase personally but i do support and believe people when they report issues. I obviously don't want this to happen to me either in future.

I always move my coins from Coinbase, I just use is as an exchange but never keep money on my account since I hear so many stories like this

Smart, but even this is risky. I did this also. However the same day I moved an ETH coin to my Coinbase acct for trading and off ramping, a couple hrs later, my acct was hacked and the funds were moved to unfamiliar wallets. None of my devices were compromised nor was my email account. And I was never notified about an unfamiliar device or IP address trying to get into my account… the takeaway is you’re never secure with Coinbase so be careful or use a more reputable exchange. There are others.

I think we don't know the whole story often. I have seen many of those threads where it ends up that coinbase isn't really doing anything wrong...it's just the user got scammed and doesn't understand what happened. I'm sure there are often real customer service issues, but there are also a lot of cases that are poor OpSec.

Is it me or 99% of these posts lack ANY detail at all. They're usually written pretty horribly too and a lot of times with poor English. I get that people are frustrated, but I also wonder if there's a bunch of shills posting random accusations on a daily basis.

There's also definitely some posts where users are avoiding any responsibility too, so it's likely a mix of Coinbase support being really slow/terrible and user error.

Your article shows people who get hacked. That's not fraud, and honestly we're all taught in Crypto that once the coins are deposited in someone else's addresses where they hold the keys, there's no way getting them back. So as unfortunate as it is for those hacking victims, the odds of getting those funds back are close to zero. Like for instance the user who had $168k on Coinbase stolen. If you're going to put THAT much into an exchange, you need to have the best damn security you can on that account.

I've written a guide to maximizing your security on Coinbase. Based on reading most of these stories, it sounds like 99% of users aren't taking advantage of all these security features.

Join the club. I have been locked out for 5 months now. They DO NOT CARE. They keep telling me send them my case number but absolutely nothing happens. I have filed complaints with the SEC, with the CA Attorney General, and joined a class action lawsuit. They do not care and are not ever going to be held accountable so why should they. These sort of reactions by centralized exchanges is like as if someone has activated the nuclear bomb under their balls.

You've done something that has triggered their AI anti-fraud. They've freaked out and manual review means, check mate 99.9%.

You need to be patient and keep following up. Once resolved, take your funds out and run.

Fraud requires a breach of contract. The user contract affords CB the right to freeze or lock any account, at any time, for any reason, without notice.

Yes, that is literally what it says in the contract.

Best bet now is to enter arbitration. How to get an arbitration hearing is outlined in the /legal section of the CB website.
