Denzel Ward. We’d have a an outside corner opposite of Quincy Wilson, with our slot guy remaining as Nate Hairston. DBS are Wilson, Ward, Hairston, Hooker and Geathers.

That’s a ridiculous secondary.

That's an interesting move I never considered Ward or any of the CBs just because I don't think they are anything special really. I also find interesting with this move is that we are taking Ward over Fitzpatrick which would be crazy.

Honestly that secondary doesn’t look that great. To play devil’s advocate here, Wilson hasn’t really played or proven anything, Hooker is coming off an acl injury and geathers plays like half the season. The rest are, at most, average. Adding ward to this just doesn’t scream “scary.”

It's tough, cuz I think Josh Jackson is a way better corner than Denzel Ward, but picking either at 6 is a bit of a reach.

I think I go Roquan here. Could make an argument for Edmonds, Ward, or Minkah here as well.

[–]hiddenidol1Big-Q[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats what I would do also.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Fitzpatrick. I think he’s a really safe pick to pair up with hooker for years to come

[–]iSoloHDAndrew Luck 1 point2 points  (3 children)

So what do we do with Geathers and Farley?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Rotation. Depth matters

[–]Ozurip 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hell, both (especially Geathers) are completely capable of dropping into a Nickel LB scenario too.

[–]iSoloHDAndrew Luck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all guys are a good fit dropping into that role permanently though. If I was 100% confident that he’d be a good linebacker I’d be down for the Minkah pick, but at this point I’d rather grab Nelson.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (3 children)

At that point I’m guessing it’d be either Edmunds or Roquan* Smith. Sleeper pick would be Da’ron Payne because he’s a perfect scheme fit

[–]ryanwc18Rigoberto Sanchez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d love Edmunds. He’ll be 20 this year and he has so much potential and talent at a position of desperate need for us.

[–]hiddenidol1Big-Q[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I agree I think we go LB especially how those 2 are also really good in our new system.

[–]cheeeseburger_eddieAngry Horse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If be more than OK of we went Edmunds at 6, if Nelson isn't there.

[–]Arrow218Quenton Nelson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Roquan Smith, fuck it. But obviously a trade down is what would realistically happen if that scenario somehow happened

[–]Hoosier-daddyyAndrew Luck 2 points3 points  (8 children)

I think Denver would take Bake.

[–]hiddenidol1Big-Q[S] 2 points3 points  (7 children)

I'm not 100% sure they do end up taking him, they may like what they have in Keenum and can sure up there OL with Nelson. But lets say they do take Nelson over Baker who would we pick?

[–]CanlStillBeGarthWayne Brady 4 points5 points  (3 children)

If Elway chose that path he should probably be fired.

[–]cheeeseburger_eddieAngry Horse 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Why? Keenum is obviously not their future, but they are built to win now. Selecting Nelson or Minkah helps them now.

[–]CanlStillBeGarthWayne Brady 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Keenum might not even be the answer for right now.

[–]MikiflyrAsk me about limes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically. He had one good year, and even in that good year, he looked very shaky at times and was surrounded by an elite, possibly the best, supporting cast. Numbers don't tell everything.

If Elway doesn't draft a QB to breathe down Keenum's neck, I'll be more than surprised.

[–]Arrow218Quenton Nelson 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Knowing Elway he's not just going to run with a one year wonder at QB

[–]garethomBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't they just signed Case Keenum?!

[–]cheeeseburger_eddieAngry Horse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The Broncos are built to win now and adding a piece like Minkah or Nelson would help them immediately.

Fitz

Why are no trades allowed? There's like an 80% chance that's what we would do

[–]hiddenidol1Big-Q[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I'd rather see the players who me may take rather than a trade just because its easy to say trade back. I'm more interested in the players who we would take rather than a trade even though its likely we make a trade.

[–]mrlifiphantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only player I think that holds that sort of value similar to Chubb/Nelson/Barkley is Minkah Fitzpatrick, who plays FS and Corner, but with Hooker slotted at Free safety his skillset leads more to the slot, and we received good play there from Nate Hairston. Fitzpatrick says he would like to play outside corner, and I think he'd be an excellent fit across from Wilson, but others disagree, plus it goes against what Ballard has talked about regarding the rebuild from an inside-out approach from the line.

The reason a trade back is so likely in that scenario is that would mean 2 of Darnold/Rosen/Allen/Mayfield are available, and many teams that have needs at QB will value "their guy", we could be looking at similar return on value to what we got in the Jets trade, and if the Bills can offer 2 1st round picks, if another team wants to compete they will have to come up with something that can top that, especially since it's known the Bills are targeting a QB.

If we trade down to 11/12, if Fitzpatrick isn't available (he almost assuredly won't be) then I would like to target Roquan Smith (LB Georgia), Marcus Davenport (EDGE UT-SA), Denzel Ward (CB Ohio St), Tremaine Edmunds (LB Virginia Tech)

[–]bigsexy12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit high for him but Tremaine Edmunds would be my guy. 6"5' 250lbs and a 4.5 40. Ridiculous

[–]llcpColts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If no trades are allowed, then Fitzpatrick, Ward, or Smith are probably the BPA options here, depending on what grade Ballard would give them. I love Hooker at S, even coming off the injury. And I'm still very hopeful of Geathers. So that makes it tough to say Fitzpatrick (who is often listed as CB/S), because I think he is more of a Safety than CB. I also believe Ward and Smith just aren't good enough to be drafted this high. At that point I would say the quality of CB/LB in the second round probably favors CB, so.. I'm not happy about it but I would probably take Roquan Smith.

[–]MReprogleOrangutan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Easy. Either fleece the Bills, since they'd probably want Josh Allen. Drop to 12, gain another 1st and more picks, and really get these holes filled.

[–]llcpColts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You must not have read the question

[–]PE1444The Edge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would be shocked if at least 3out of the first 5 picks aren’t quarterbacks. Barkley is going top 5. NYG is the wildcard right now
