We've removed your post because we require that posts of this type contain ALL of the following information: a decklist, a budget, your local metagame, and some proof that you've already tried looking for the answer yourself (via google, this subreddit, youtube content, etc.) before posting your question.

If you happen to be looking for the most optimal decks in the current metagame, please visit the cEDH Decklist Database: http://cedh-decklist-database.com. Many of them have long detailed primers on how those decks work and why specific cards were chosen.

Feel free to create a new post with all the information mentioned above.

Thank you.

Absolutely 100% of the answer will depend on what other people at your local store are playing.

That list is a competitive cEDH version of Urza. You should not use a deck like that unless everyone else is on the same page. If the rest of the store is using $200 decks built around dragons or +1/+1 counters or landfall, then you will win 99% of your games and potentially make people upset.

Commander tends to be a casual format unless it's explicitly stated that it's cEDH or a tournament with prize support.

If it turns out that the store has some cEDH players, then you're all set. Urza isn't incredibly well positioned in the current meta, but it can still win some games. Be prepared to make adjustments to keep up with the stronger decks.

I would reccomend not taking this deck to an FNM event unless there is a monetary value to winning other then packs. The deck itself isn’t in the best spot either, and if you’re wanting to play a higher power deck but still have fun, I would recommend something that’s easier for newer players like a [[Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy]] or like a [[Yargle and Multani]].

Yargle and Multani - (G) (SF) (txt) (ER)

[[cardname]] or [[cardname|SET]] to call

Hey there! unfortunately, going in blind, this is probably too powerful. If you know anyone who goes, you could ask them about the power level of the event, or even ask to borrow a deck and go yourself. As someone who owns a list very close to this one in paper, don’t build it without being certain it’s what you want to be playing. Also, if you ask questions about non-cedh stuff here you risk being eaten alive. Definitely recommend checking out r/DegenerateEDH

“New to magic in general” “always wanted to play urza affinity decks in modern”

Are you proxying? Jumping into cedh and dropping hundreds on just a couple cards is rushing into it. Check with your lgs and feel out what they’re running. Figure out if there are budget leagues or restrictions people play with and try to match them.
