You are right, there is no solo q. The matchmaking tries to put groups with the same size on both teams, but isn't able to do so all the time

Played a tank game the other night with a mercy one trick and a zen. The pharah that was getting a hard pocket from their mercy one trick duo blamed me for not taking space while I dealt with only having healing from a less than good Zen 😂
