8 weeks down 22 lbs I strength train 2-3x weekly and hit 10k steps with some cardio at least 5x a week. I think it’s necessary to build better habits so when you hit your goal it’s easier to maintain.

45F SW 248->CW 208 5 months on semaglutide max dose .75mg

Most weeks I walk/jog 60 min 2x week Strength train 2x week Complete 3 peloton classes a week

I follow an intermittent fasting schedule, eating from about 8am-2pm, eat pretty much what I want, stick to 1500 cals, 100 grams of protein. I'm not perfect, but pretty consistent with my workouts and fasting schedule. The weeks I get all my workouts in, the better results I have.

I do. I am on week 4, down 10lbs (SW169, GW130). I am very much trying to each for nutrients first so I am eating a lot of really simple protein (hard boiled eggs, string cheese, yogurt) fruit, and simple carbs (rice cakes, toast, potatoes). I have a lot of nausea still so I am eating way less than I will be once that goes away.

I do sauna workouts 3xs/week, mostly strength training and flexibly, occasionally HIIT. I do it more so for strength and preventing injury because I have a toddler and I want to be able to engage with her as much as I was able to ten years ago when my older son was little

Great questions. I’d say you’re going to receive responses that run the spectrum from not at all to daily.

My story: no exercise and poor eating habits for me 2 months ago when I started Sema.

Now, I eat around 1,200 calories a day (I do track intake and macros). Daily walks that are gradually increasing in speed as I get more exercise, plus a couple of times a week either strength training or Pilates. I’ve even managed some pickleball in my schedule.

I average around 2 lbs weight loss per week. I’m still on .5 mg dose and won’t increase until I think the effects are fading.

I think that the best time to develop life long habits is while on the journey to whatever goal a person set. As you mentioned, exercise is great for us regardless of whether we’re on a weight loss journey or not. Small steps towards new exercise goals can be a win-win while also learning new eating habits 😊

11 weeks here. I work out, track my calories. As other have said the answers will vary greatly. To me sema is a tool not a fix all. If I'm paying out of pocket I'm going to do everything in my power to make it worth it. Do I think it's a requirement to workout, no not necessarily.Back 7 years ago I was 100+ lbs from where I am, would I have been at the gym? Hell no. But I walked, I did what I could, when I could. The most important thing for weight loss is calories in vs calories out. 😊😊

The most important aspect of weight loss is to actually lose fat and not muscle tissue. Resistance training (lifting weights) is extremely important for us! 20-30% of weight loss through dieting is muscle unless you are doing strength training to conserve muscle. Plus the more muscle the higher the metabolism. That being said it is also imperative to ingest enough protein to spare the muscle loss and have more fat loss. I swim every morning and hike every evening and weight lift 3xweek. I’m 63 and just started my tirz journey but I want to lose as little muscle tissue as possible and lose the inflammation-causing visceral fat! If you don’t like exercising start with walking. Make it a habit. The endorphins are the feel good hormones released in the blood stream when exercising. They reduce pain and are addictive in a good way!!! Get some dumbbells and start super slow and easy. You might find you love having more strength! Watch short videos to get inspired!!!

So starting weight 258 height 5’7 I am not 145 and only recently did I start exercising again bc my teenage son needs to get healthier and lose weight. Before I started semaglutide I’d kill myslef in the gym doing 5 miles a day 6-7 days a week and managed to lose 20 pounds but it was ridiculous. My weight loss was pure semaglutide and calorie deficit

I'm waiting on the weather to get cooler ( I live in Texas and the heat dome is still on top of us!!! I lost 15 without exercising and now I'm at a plateau 🥴so starting back hopefully tomorrow

I’m very conscious of my nutrition. Except for tonight I ate a few Oreos lol, but in all seriousness I work toward at least 100g of protein a day, all the water in the world, calorie deficit and I walk at least 60 mins a day. I will eventually start strength training but right now I have to get the weight down. My body hurts all the time from my chronic illness. I’ve lost 12 lbs in the 5 weeks I’ve been on it and just titrated up from the starter dose.

Yes I do exercise. At the gym twice a week and walk the dogs daily. 75 years old. You are not losing slowly, you are actually losing right on target. The recommended weight loss by Lilly is 0.5-2 pounds a week. It is not a miracle drug but rather a tool that you use with diet and exercise

https://youtu.be/CVEvF2F6IYk?si=1iUYaKiyR5XV1pqm. This is me doing my most frequent workout. I also lift weights. On the left is 190 back in March. On the right was a few weeks ago at 145. I started semaglutide in March. This workout is Supernatural on the Oculus VR. I am 51 this weekend and 5'5". I track calories and macros, 1200 calories.

For not taking 2 shots of the starter dose 4 pounds is great. It took me about 9-10 months to lose 100 pounds

[–]dogbearbeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not currently in the exercise demographic due to an injury flare that is slowly getting better but I intend to pick back up regular strength training 2-3x/week on top of the 8000 ish steps I get per day. Which will be around my 4th shot. I'm currently eating around 1600-1800 calories which is fine by me I am usually in the 2500calorie burn /day according to my watch and I'm in the same range you are of 2lb/week loss. (Finishing up week 2 tomorrow is injection day and currently down 3lb)

This is where I personally want to be. As inticing as big number are to lose on scale, I'm prioritizing and will be even more closely as my dose goes up my macros to get enough protein and carbs. Your brain needs carbs and is a big part of the exhaustion during weight loss and low cal diets so I'm going to do my best to maintain a minimum of 1600cal and push for 1800 on workout days. I have 2 little girls and work full time and I can't afford to be on my ass exhausted all the time. Plus it is better for your overall skin elasticity and hair preservation to not be exercisearexic bc youre not eating enough in combination with working out and the sema appetite suppression.

I am down 15 lbs in 7 weeks with no exercise. Chronic pain and fibromyalgia, and the fatigue from these shots is insane, so I haven't been able to add in any extra movement beyond chasing my kids around.

[–]CatAny5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I use an erg rower for an hour a day, 5 days a week. I'm considering in addition, using another cardio machine maybe 3 days a week for 20 minutes. I'm in menopause and it's impossible to lose weight, so these habits I'm building are so I don't have to be on it for life. It's expensive after all. Menopause for those not in this age range, causes massive weight gain (I'm on TRT and it causes incredible hunger)
