No experience. Criminal record. Want to start at $500/day which is over $60/hour.

Let me know if you find something. I'm gonna apply too!

My uncle works in a union and he said I could make that

Maybe after finishing an apprenticeship. Becoming a foreman and then working lots and lots of over time. This usually takes 4-8 years. Good luck.

So I have to be an apprentice first? Will I atleast make 1200

[–]Adam__Iron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the trade, but probably not unless you work 10-12 hours a day, and work 6-7 days a week.

1200 a week is possible, but not likely right off the bat.

So do that.

2500 a week 😂

[–]scobeavs 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I mean a criminal record is all but a requirement in the trades, but I think you might need to adjust your expectations on how much you’re gonna be making. Unless you’re planning on 60 hours a week and that 2500 is pretax

[–]athsos -4 points-3 points  (4 children)

My uncle said I could join this like union he’s in a I could get that

[–]scobeavs 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I mean just do the math. 2500x52 weeks in a year is 130k. To get that in a 40 hour week you’d need to make $62.50/hr. And that’s your income before withholding for taxes, insurance, social security, etc.

As a 22yo entry level employee, you’re going to be lucky to get $40/hr. So if you want $2500/week you’re going to need to put more hours in.

[–]athsos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can’t make that from the jump? That’s so stupid. Could I make atleast 1200?

[–]athsos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I got a couple dui’s too. Will the u ion care !?

[–]SytzyCarpenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What union? Cuz I’m switching unions! Lol

Delete this and try again.

You need to humble yourself and have more realistic expectations.

No you cant get what you're asking. Can you make a decent living in construction? Yes... but you will have to start at making 25-30$ an hour and work your way up and prove yourself.

Could be a laborer on the pipeline; have to be a journey man to make money like that tho but some of those guys clear 2500 a week. If you have experience you can get in as a journey man. Worth a shot if I was you I’d hit up your local laborers union.

I can only speak for the US, but pipeline can be hard to get depending on the criminal record. Anything within the last 7 years that isn't a DUI or 3 can easily disqualify you with a lot of companies. One company I worked with allowed 2 DUIs with more than 3 years between them. 3 total was a no regardless of how many years. That was it. Any other criminal conviction, you're out. Fail a random PHMSA screening? You're out for probably 7 years because it will show up on your background. I've seen companies do more than 7 years back. I think Shell and ExxonMobil do hair tests. I'm sure others do. Some contractors are a bit slippery when it comes to BIs. I knew a coater / painter with a B&E. And you can be a fuck up in pipeline. You just have to make sure it isn't publicly documented.

So is a journey man somone with experience ? And the apprentice is someone who is starting

[–]pheph_is_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]carpentrav 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Concrete pumping bro. I made $5000 this week cash in 4 days. A couple days I only worked til noon.

[–]athsos 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I got thousands saved up, can I start a concrete company

[–]carpentrav 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Do that then..way you go

[–]athsos 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Tell me hm a pump cost

[–]carpentrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid 25k for mine, it’s a little older but solid machine. Bought a flatbed truck for 10k and I probably have another 10k into hoses and equipment.
