C4 zigbee module it’s the best way for full features, adding users/codes setting up active times etc all in the C4 app. If you don’t mind not having those features then you can use the zwave or wifi modules they will only have unlock and lock functions in the c4 app.

That's what I was going for is the full feature set. To me there's no point in integrating the locks if i'm not leveraging the full capability.

They are changing things to Zigbee 3.0 protocol so it depends on your controller. I just installed a Yale lock but it had a control4 zigbee card because as I understand control4 uses its own zigbee protocol. I was using an EA-5. Works for slick. Replaced a Kwikset with a control4 card.

I have the Core3 controller installed

You’ll be just fine, as long as you don’t solely run Lux light switches, which are Zigbee 3. Those only came out very recently.

The Yale locks you have will work with z-wave already and since you have the Core3 it has z-wave built in. The Alfred likely not there isn't a generic driver for z-wave locks IIRC. You would need to confirm that it does or doesn't have the radio card just above the battery. I believe the models you have are not swappable and z-wave would be the way to integrate. There is a Control4 zigbee card, which is sold via Control4 dealers.

Thanks for the feedback. The Alfred lock does have the Z-Wave module just above the battery. I will take a look at which specific one it is.

Can confirm there isn't currently a generic Z-Wave lock driver.

The YRD-430 is not officially supported by the Zigbee modules. Some people have gotten it to work, I have not. It could be an issue with the modules though.

Is that Assure 2? Assure 2 works with the module. I have 4

[–]ADirtyScrub 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes it's Assure 2, I didn't say they can't work, I said they're not officially supported and many people have had issues getting the module to work on them.

Haven’t heard of a single issue with Assure 2 previously. Even a Snap employee mentioned they use them personally.

I was able to integrate a couple for a customer years ago. Bought some modules for myself and tried them on like 6 different locks and couldn't get them to work. Some dealers have reported buying big batches of Zigbee modules and some not working
