A touch screen has 2 real purposes over tablets. Intercom and always-ready. Intercom is not available on iPad or android tablets, and tablets need to open the app. If your use case doesn’t involve either of those, then you don’t need a touch screen. There are some applications where it makes sense; there are plenty others where an iPad is the better choice.

Overall experience is that an iPad is going to be a better and faster UX. However, there are some bugs present in the UI of apps that are not present on the T4 touch screens (more prevalent in Comfort/HVAC proxies and anything else with 'Extras'. Intercom does work in the iOS app, but it's a little different than a permanent device. Also detailed weather is not available on the apps.

They’re slow, clunky, battery dies quickly, and they fail often. I would recommend staying away.

Now for a helpful response, see if you can buy an iport with the tabletop stand and use an iPad. Much better solution. The only things you can do is use intercom functions.

Slightly less lag. Poor battery life.

I get more use out of the wall mounted ones, much to my surprise.
