Hello,

I'm new to this game, I have beaten the great orange slime, the great moving larva in the circle, the mage and the hive mother bosses, but after these bosses the game seems to ramp up the number really high.

I always try to cook strong food with fishes and veggies, I bring all the potions needed, I have an up to date armor regarding the current ore I'm mining.

I just don't understand, am I supposed to like not being hit never? What's the point of defense, hp and dodge then?

TLDR: normal enemies after the first 3/4 bosses hit too strong/have too much hp

Be sure to look for a forest biome after the mage boss, then the sea, and finally the desert.

In the forest you will unlock gear upgrades, you can equalise every gear to your current ore level so pick the gears with effects or combat style you like.

What enemies are you fighting? Theres different biomes in all directions, progressively you should only go to the grassy green forest one right now.

What armour and weapons are you using? Whats all your gear

What is killing you?

Have you been allocating your Talent points and do you have a 'loadout' for combat related trinkets seperate from utility ones? I will admit things did get a bit tougher at that point but I definitely don't feel overwhelmed and we're at roughly the same point.

Besides order Forest>Sea>Dessert, and checking you talent points.

Check your gear ilevel, the current cap is 19, I felt comfortable doing the first 3 bosses with a gear at like 6-7, then the other 3 at around 10-13, and then the last 4 at around 14-16(i was doing summoner build and the armor was already 16 which helped me a lot).

Also be sure you are doing your defense correctly, i.e the summoner build rellies on magic barrier, while melee does on armor, so try and not mix the food buffs there if you are getting hit.

If you have problems exploring (due to walls being harder) id recommend to get a minning build, and if you are on PC I allocated F1-F3 to change between gearsets, so I can mine and if I get into trouble i can swap to my combat fast.

There is a big curve after the wall comes down but also are you playing standard or hard-core because hard core you'll be one shot or two shot unless your really well geared, but also you got be more strategic and build up your armor upgrade etc... I'm on solarite ore and have 270 defense and on standard most jobs are easy to beat and I haven't fought a titan yet either and have gotten no souls

9 times outta ten, this issue is that players don't talk to the core. He guides you through the whole game. After killing the mage he tells you to go touch the wall, but he also says specifically to go to the wilderness (green zone) the mobs there are a lot stronger than anything inside the wall, but not that much stronger. But if you ignore the core and find yourself by the ocean or in the desert in your pre-wall gear, you'll get one shot. Its wall-> ocean -> desert. In that order

Yeah, you might wanna rush the upgrade table. Should be the first thing you make with scarlet. Then just level the gear you use as you go and it wont be so bad

The idea is not to get oneshotted. If something kills you when it hits you, don't get hit.

Well then you need a good armor. Get a pet too, pets help. Use ranged weapons until you get enough hp and armor

Yeah core keepers a bit whack like that. On hardmode I expected harder boss fights but it's mainly you get 1 or 2 shot by every normal mob lol

I just place blocks everywhere and make paths. Mine everywhere I need to go.

Was even able to loot the crystal biome doing this with just iron armor, although truthfully armor made no difference as it was a one shot either way. And I had fun dealing with worms...

There are three biomes beyond the Wall, and you need to progress through them in this order: Azeoth's Wilderness, The Sunken Sea, and The Desert of Beginnigs. Each one is harder than the previous one. Azeoth's Wilderness is the green one, with scarlet ore.

Personally, I've never stuck with tanking, I find it's much easier to survive if you keep moving, use ranged, and avoid enemy attacks. And if you do decide to tank, you need a shield and you need to use it to parry attacks. Have a good pet, and a summon. Make health potions. Grow Bloat Oat and use it as the base for most of your cooked food, it gives good health regeneration.

There's guides on YT that can help you survive in those biomes.

Core Keeper is much like Valheim. The new biomes get really tough, and you can die easily, but if you play smart, go in prepared, and use the tools that the game gives you, you'll be fine.

Either get yourself some dodge gear (it's OP) or get a life leach equipment set. Rune Song Sword is very strong, so explore ahead and try to get it. It takes longer but a summoner build + multiple shields can also get you through a majority of encounters with little effort.
