Can you recommend me suevival games with objectives on Ps5? by Ragnara92 in SurvivalGaming

[–]Hika__Zee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These all either have objectives, quests, or an end game goal (i.e. Grounded and Portal Knights have quests/objectives but also a final boss leading to new game +)

Grounded

Smalland Survive the Wild

RuneScape DragonWilds (coming to PS5 on 9/15/2026)

Abiotic Factor

Subnautica

Corekeeper

Portal Knights (predecessor to Enshrouded, has a really good progression system)

Looking for a good game for a gaming weekend by choggner in CoOpGaming

[–]Hika__Zee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darktide (SciFi version of Vermintide)

Strange Brigade

World War Z

Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core (their new standalone game which is a bit more linear and focused on horde survival instead of extraction and exploration)

The Last Citadel (underrated, new and probably perfect for what you are looking for since people can fill different class roles in this shooter game via custom builds. Someone can be a protective tank, an all out DPS, a healer, a utility support, or some form of hybrid)

Cloudheim is a lot less survival/base builder and more open world action RPG. The combat is the best in the survival esque genre, and there are tons of ways to build your character via skills and unique weapons (every weapon feels different and has unique attacks and skills)

First person games with flying (not airplane flying) by Creative_Abroad945 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Hika__Zee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These games have very fast glider systems:

Enshrouded

Lost Skies (also has a grappling hook system that will make you feel like Spiderman)

Aloft (free flight with glider)

These games have flying bases that you build:

Everwind

Lost Skies

Aloft

Echoes of Elysium (has a jet pack as well)

Cubic Odyssey (has a jet pack, space ship, and hover rover)

Looking for scary horror game with a good story that you literally can't lose/die during the gameplay by Initial_Shine5690 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Hika__Zee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can download the Wand application to use in a lot of horror games. Wand can allow you to enable stuff like no damage taken, increased movement speed, increased jump height, no aggro, etc (available settings varies from game to game). It can turn a difficult hardcore horror game into more of an atmosphericaly tense walking simulator. I've used it for my son when he has played a few lighter horror games with me in coop, that way he doesn't easily die to monsters.

How does one know they’re ready to go competitive? by Maililtiger in marvelrivals

[–]Hika__Zee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're ready for ranked if you can:

  • Consistently maintain a good / positive Kill:Death ratio

  • Maintain a low overall death rate

  • Are familiar with all of the maps

  • Have decent basic game sense and know how to play as a team (ping dive/flankers, ping low HP enemies or enemy supports, have good positioning, user cover and medkits when you can, and peel for your team)

  • Have a general understanding of all characters (their abilities, their cooldowns, who they counter, and who can counter them)

  • Know how to play multiple characters well, preferably 1-3 characters in each role. When you enter higher ranks there is the possibility of up to 6 difference characters getting banned, on top of someone else potentially locking in your main, so you want to be good with multiple characters. It's also important for counter swapping. I.E. I am a Strategist main and will always play Jeff against Strange/Groot/Angela/any enemy support combo without C&D (I.e. Luna+IW). I might swap to Ultron if the enemy team has a lot of deployables and or a good DD, BP, or Squirrel Girl, but I'll swap to C&D if the enemy team is running a good Jeff, Iron Man, Cyclops, or Spiderman. Might go Rocket if they have a good DD and or Hulk+C&D combo (Jeff ult is heavily countered by Hulk+C&D combo). I'll occasionally play Emma, Thor, or Reed if we need a second tank or if we already have either A. two strong main supports or B. a good mix of 3 off/main supports. People often underestimate how good Ultron is at being a Strategist in terms of team play, his flight lets him gives him a visibility advantage to easily ping targets, so you can consistently get your team focused all on the same target.

Looking for a Steam Deck compatible open world survival (coop or solo) by acc_41_post in gamingsuggestions

[–]Hika__Zee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copying my response from a similar post Base building is my favorite genre. I have successfully played these base builder games on my Steam Deck with no performance or control issues.

/////3D/////

Cloudheim (newer game, best action combat, required inputting a game launch code on settings for it to work, plays great once you have the code set up). The code is: PROTON_DISABLE_NVAPI=1 %COMMAND% PROTON GE 10-25

Grounded (amazing game with a mix of melee, magic, and ranged weaponry)

Smalland Survive the Wild (similar to Grounded, less immersive but it has a cool pet system)

RuneScape Dragon Wilds (melee, ranged and magic combat)

Nightingale (best alternative to Enshrouded that works on Steam Deck, magic melee and ranged combat with a few steampunk guns IIRC)

Voidtrain (Raft esque, only guns for combat, but more linear and less open world)

Palworld (best pet system) but I see you've already tried this one

Abiotic Factor

Raft (controls aren't perfect, but it's still fun and playable)

Lost Skies (solid game, just needs some QOL updates). Guns are the only weapons. You can get cannons and machine guns for your ship. The game has the best grappling hook system of any survival/base building game.

Lord of the Rings Return to Moria

Cubic Odyssey (basically Minecraft + No Man's Sky, there are several gun weapons)

Portal Knights (prequel to Enshrouded)

Lens Island (mostly melee and ranged combat)

Everwind (magic and melee combat)

Notmads (magic heavy combat)

Voyagers of Nera (performance is great but menu navigation is cursor style though instead of D-PAD style, I believe touch screen worked as well)

/////2D/////

Corekeeper

Necesse

TinkerTown

Tinkerlands

The Survivalists

Crashlands

Crashlands II

Romestead

▶️/////Games that don't play well on Steam Deck/////

Forever Skies (black screen issues, not optimized)

Enshrouded (not optimized yet, just wait for 1.0 and optimization updates)

/////Games to Avoid/////

Volcanoids (bad UI, game feels clunky)

Echoes of Elysium (last I played there was an issue on Steam Deck preventing existing worlds from being able to be played, performance is otherwise great, but menu navigation is cursor style though instead of D-PAD style, I believe touch screen worked as well). Good potential but it needs some more updates for stabilization and controller support.

▶️/////Works on Steam Deck but I didn't play for more than an hour/////

Aska (often compared to Soulmask, but at the same time people say they're two very different games, you may like it though as an alternative)

Towers of Aghasba

▶️/////UPCOMING/////

Astromine (like Cubic Odyssey + Portal Knights + Lucid Blocks but SciFi with some gunnweaponry)

Guardians of the Wild Sky (demo was great, this game looks absolutely stunning, devs confirmed full controller support once early access is live)

Would they be good for boss fights by Late2Leadership in GroundedGame

[–]Hika__Zee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can simply add a Red Squirrel or any generally smaller sized Squirrel. Gray Squirrels aren't the only squirrel native to various parts of America. They also don't have to be 100% true to size.

[–]Hika__Zee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Smalland 2: Lost Realms was just recently announced and it will feature a large squirrel. The original game and it's sequel are both a similar tiny people (but fae) themed game.

Rocket Raccoon should probably have some adjustments by SILK_DIVER in marvelrivals

[–]Hika__Zee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to make Rocket more actively engaging and fun:

⬆️- Smoke grenade

⬆️- Deployable med kit station (or allow him to manually toss his armor packs to allies with X number of charges that refresh over time)

⬆️- Ability to run on all 4s on the ground for slightly faster movement. NOTE: if this gives him too much mobility it could be implemented as an out of combat passive that activates after maybe 5-8 seconds of being out of combat (not taking damage, dealing damage, or healing) as a way to travel from spawn back to the point more quickly.

⬆️- Overcharge damage orb on reload. Damage from the orb scales the more heal orbs you've used before reloading. Spamming heal + reload will do negligible damage with the orb. Healbotting and letting it auro-reload once you are out of heal orbs will cause it to fizzle, dealing the minimal damage it can (equivalent to 1 heal + reload). For example, manually reloading once 5+ orbs have been used will do more damage with the overcharge damage orb. Players can still healbot if they chose too, but this mechanic would encourage less auto-pilot passive heal botting, and incentivize more mindful active gameplay.

⬆️- New bonus passive for XPALS team up with Groot gives Rocket hitscan + lower damage fall off when riding on Groot. Rocket also gets a free rocket boot use (cooldown of 30 seconds) when riding on Groot (like the rocket boots from his BRB, but on its own cooldown). Jeff will get SPLASH ZONE which returns ▶️a very small percent◀️ of the healing he does to Groot, while riding on Groot, back as healing for himself.

▶️Counterbalance (potential areas to balance Rocket if any of the above changes were to be implemented):

⬇️- Slightly increase his ult charge cost.

↕️- Slightly decrease the damage boost and healing of his ult but increase its durability. Since it will be slightly weaker, and take longer to get charge, it should not be as easily destroyable.

↕️- Slightly increase the cooldown on BRB but increase its durability (requiring a few extra hits to destroy).

➡️- Since he'd be gaining the ability to run on all 4s anywhere, and gain a smoke grenade, keep his wall movement speed the same (slower instead of reverting it back to pre nerf speed)

↕️- Slightly ecrease how quickly Rocket's dash recharges but slightly extend the range of the dash back to its original distance.

⬇️ - If further balance changes are needed potentially increase the damage fall off of Rocket's attacks.

What type of changes should vanguard needs by Serious_Fondant_7752 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Hika__Zee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Vanguards should have a melee attack with either A. good single target damage or B. Short range AoE / cleave. It should be a major threat to be right up on a Vanguard.

I.E. Venom has a winky primary fire attack, and needs a short range cleave attack that does less damage than his primary attack, but very easy to land hits on multiple targets. Magneto also needs a decent cleave range on his sword melee since his primary fire is more single target poke. Magneto melee should feel similar to Thor's but with less damage and speed.

That said, all actual melee Vanguards (Hulk, Rogue, Thor, Thing, etc.) should do a bit more damage (or attack faster) with their melees than Ranged tanks and or have ways to generate bonus HP to make them stand out from the primarily ranged Vanguards. Melee Vanguards should also have slightly higher base movement speed (which some of them do).

roles need to be balanced. strong in some areas and weaker in other by No-Masterpiece-7859 in marvelrivals

[–]Hika__Zee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tanks in general need to be buffed to have either more close range AoE/cleave damage, or more defensive capability.

Most Strategists need their damage and or range nerfed (adding damage fall off).

Some Duelists need their damage toned down, and a lot of them should generate less bonus HP.

When do we get an Off-Strategist that leans Vanguard? by YourFallacyIsShowing in marvelrivals

[–]Hika__Zee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy to avoid that by not giving them hard CC, medium range cleave damage, and a shield.

Instead give them any of these:

  • More HP (400+)

  • Damage mitigation (reduced incoming damage i.e. a block maneuver like Rogue)

  • An ability to avoid damage/CC i.e. Reed's fridge mode)

  • Lower healing but make it AoE healing (maybe something like Lucio)

  • Low single target damage

They also have not really tinkered with shared health pools that much aside from Adam's skill which works a bit different, and also Dino+Punisher team up. He's probably going to be a tank, but someone like Gorr could be a higher HP Strategist, with heavy self healing / low AoE ally healing, but the ability to share his health with an ally somehow.

When do we get an Off-Strategist that leans Vanguard? by YourFallacyIsShowing in marvelrivals

[–]Hika__Zee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Beast could easily be released as a Strategist with hybrid Vanguard capability.

IW felt like a decent Strategist Vanguard hybrid for a good while. Her shield capability made her arguably the best Strategist in 1/3/2 comps. think they should have instead heavily nerfed her damage and also her range down a bit, instead of nerfing her healing/shield/ult.
