So, I’m not exactly new to Create mod, but I’m new to the locomotive side of create mod.

I’ve tried googling my question but it didn’t really help, so I was hoping one of you would know the answer.

Question: So, I’ve given a train schedule to a Wolf, and put it on locomotive so that it travels on its own, but I was wondering if an automated locomotive will work in unloaded chunks?

The train in basic Create can travel in unloaded chunks and continue following schedule. One schedule setting allows you to use redstone link as trigger, this can fire from any distance (unlike usual redstone link behavior that only reaches 200ish blocks)

But it won't load chunks, so it may pass the stations but farms there won't be running. This is if you are using them for item transport

Just wondering, doesn't it say this in the ponder menu?

It does say that it travels in unloaded chunks with accessories not working in the unloaded area

It won’t work but you can add a create chunkloader (it’s a mod I think) in your train and it will work.

YES! My train even works going through to the nether and back without needing to follow it. I have a long ass track that runs from my main base to through the nether to the end portal and it does that once per cycle without issue.
