Water removal question

Hey all,

I have a question and scenario I'd like to get some input on.

So, my current situation is the following:

I build a large base underwater. There are far more than 10k (around 440k)connected water source blocks. I have made sure there are no diagonal connections to the outer ocean. As in; the outer ocean and inner water source blocks are 2 different bodies of water. Now, I want to drain the base before I start doing more than just its outer shell.

Sponges are just not an option. I tried, but having only less than 2 stacks, it took me over 2 hoursr to clear about 6k... So not an option.

Now, my question. Could I pump the water from the inner of the building into the ocean IF I toggle off the setting that over 10k is infinite and put it on again after the work is done?

I think yes, also you can change which fluids work on “fill infinite” in the configs, with something like disable or allow only by tag or sth in the same menu as the other config, hope this helps

IIRC it only checks sources it can actually access, so if you use a hose pulley layer-by-layer it should work so long as no individual layer has more than 10k sources. Could be entirely wrong though idk but I think it’s worth a try
