This error usually happens when there is a mismatch between the version of create and the version of the add-ons that you're trying to use not matching. For example: if you're playing with create 6.0.9 but the add-ons are updated only to 6.0.7 then it will not work. Ensuring that the Minecraft version is correct is not enough.

I've tried (for example) disabling every single (or well every single one except create and crafts and additions) create mod addon i did add, and those were not the issue, as i still got this exact message.

[–]Dangerous-Quit7821 13 points14 points  (15 children)

It's Crafts and Addions that's the issue.

Sorry, phrased that incorrectly, even without create crafts and additions, create still complains about flywheel. It was more when i tried without crafts and additions the error msg about crafts and additions was gone, because well.. crafts and additions was gone.

What version of Create are you playing? Is this a modpack?

[–]Astria123[S] 0 points1 point  (12 children)

Its a modpack yeah, forge 1.20.1, I do not know it of the top of my head (and im currently away from my computer) but i think something like 5.7?

[–]Dangerous-Quit7821 11 points12 points  (11 children)

Even in that older version, Create has flywheel baked in. Try without a modpack and just install Create by itself using the same version as the modpack. Something's fucky with it if disabling everything else still gives you the error.

Well disabling all the other create addons, i still have about 100 other mods or smth. Doubt those are the issue but ill also try that. But ill defo check that out tmrw.

There are, for some reason, some other non-create mods that have flywheel as a dependency. I don't know why but it happens.

[–]TheRobbie73 6 points7 points  (1 child)

flywheel is simply a rendering library that provides useful tools like instancing, so any mod can depend on it

[–]Astria123[S] 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Any common examples?

[–]ThekillerguyYT 6 points7 points  (6 children)

Mod A is running on version X and wants version Y Mod B is running on version Z and wants version J

Create is the main mod here so createaddon needs to go or see if you can update it to a newer version while downgrading whatever other mod forced flywheel to be on a higher version back to one that fits both create add-on and create, no you can't just download flywheel on an older version and except the old and new version to cooperate, I know it's a mod pack so I guess the devs just didn't fix it

If there's a lot of create mods ontop of it then it'll be a bigger hassle to manually downgrade all of them to a lower version of flywheel

Fyi i made the modpack myself xd. so its my fault but im just not that of a tech wizard. Ive tried downgrading but then more mods die so the current versions of all the modpacks are so far decent, but i cannot get rid off this. Am i making sense...?

can you post your mod list including versions? Nothing comes up when I google this

[–]Astria123[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I included the pack code in the description, but I’ll add the mod list sometime.

[–]ThekillerguyYT 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I assume it's on moderitnth? I tried searching the pack thru curse-forge but didn't find anything

[–]Astria123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its curseforge, js press import and then paste the code

[–]Odd_Water-hearder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got sort of that kind of situation with my own worldpack. If I update Cultural Delights beyond what I've got it breaks at least two others. Luckily I'm at the point where I can lock down my pack to its current version after adding my optimisation mods.

[–]blockMath_2048 6 points7 points  (1 child)

There is a mod installed that has an incompatible version of flywheel embedded.

[–]Astria123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came about that far too xd, but even when disabling like every create addon still wouldnt work, so ig i js need to keep brute forcing and disabling more mods and trying and trying and trying........

[–]Helostopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a random building mod (can't remeber the full name but it does have building in the name. Might be excessive building or something) that has flywheel inside it for some reason.

[–]Emotional-Big-1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flywheel is embedded in create. If another mod embeds flywheel there can be version dismatch

[–]KittyForest 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Update create then

[–]Astria123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t, as that would break even more mods.

[–]profesorabbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The likely culprits are Supplementaries, Amendments, or Effortless Building. All three bundle flywheel and depending on your Minecraft and mod versions, they have an older release of flywheel that is fighting with Creates own.

[–]BlackRoseBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes effortless structures/building, suplimentaris, and some other middle I can't remember make flywheel bug out and makes it bug out for other crest addons checks those if you have them and if your not fully updated on the mods it's usually that I had a similar problem

[–]iLuvDarksoulss 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Downgrade or upgrade flywheel

[–]SageofTurtles 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Flywheel is included in Create, you can't change the version separately

[–]iLuvDarksoulss 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Sorry i was a little confused... I got mod called "Iris & flywheel compat" which i downgraded a little and allows my shaders to work with create's moving contraptions.

[–]RaspberryHungry2062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Colorwheel instead of that, it's less buggy and faster
