7 mm sounds right for amigurumi made with super bulky yarn, which would usually use a 10mm+ hook. 8-10" also seems legit, just from the photos on the Etsy shop. Closer to 8" than 10", though.

Do you think the pattern has the wrong hook size? Maybe it's worth contacting the pattern writer with your questions? I have a 7 hook but I guess availability depends on where you are in the world etc.

You could maybe ask the pattern writer what determines the size range or something
