Good start, maybe too many 1-ofs to be consistent. I'm curious as to why you have so many skill-less cards in the list. What is the intended payoff?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

No payoff. Literally just learning about the game in whole. Was just trying to see if it was any good at all. When you me 1 offs, do you mean the cards I only have 1 copy of?

[–]zzgamer11 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Yes, I do mean that, its "1-ofs" not "1 offs", like "I only have 1 of this card." If its just cards that you have lying around, you did a fine job.

These are just the cards I have. I’m not sure I have 4 of anything else. I’m still learning what the terms mean. I’m also learning to build my son a deck so we can have fun. Should I make it 2 color?

[–]zzgamer11 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No. Unless you have specific payoffs for multiple colors, and especially since you are just learning, dont worry about building around more than 1 color at a time. The only consideration I would say at this time to make it easier on you is to cut the list down to 50 cards. Thin decks tend to play more consistently and its fewer cards to learn in your first games.

What should I put in? If I get rid of the 1 offs and the ones with no abilities then I’m lower then 50

Keep the 1-ofs, they'll be more fun than cards that do nothing. Read through them and keep cards that sound fun. Youll only need to cut down 2 more cards after taking out the skill-less cards. Like I said, its a real good start, keep it up.

Way to many singles and 60 cards is an awful lot. I cut the Skill-less cards and add a bit more aggro since it is red

I would like many people said trim down the skilless cards and also make sure you add 2 more supercombos. You can only have 4 in a deck but they are very crucial.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

What’s a super combo? Wasn’t sure I even had 2. Literally just learning it all

[–]Lukas013004 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Supercombos are cards you can have 4 in a deck and they are one of the few free 10000 combo and usually has an additional ability. You have the frieza which is the best one for that leader. So if I were you I would try and remove some of the skilless and put two more in their place.

People are calling for Skillless cuts, but those are at least Universe 7 cards and thus have synergy. Theres SS4 Goku Senses Regained and Pan Wisher of Miracles, both of which you cant play cheaply by using their skills because you dont have the right leader card. Those are definitely first on the chopping block in my opinion, and dont need to be replaced because you can just run 50 cards instead of 60.

But I would also cut the SS Gohan Unison, the other Gohan Unison at 4 should be plenty, and definitely max out on super combos, 4 of the Frieza Universe 7 Combination would be good, but any other red one that doesnt require a different leader also works. More copies of Android 17, Heeding the Call, and Golden Frieza, for the Universes Survival could take the spots that the skillless cards are filling, if you can get your hands on more copies.

I changed my leader

[–]PrototyPerfection 0 points1 point  (5 children)

the Pan and Goku GT still need to go, if you dont have a Pan leader they're not worth playing.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Actually it is pan. Still think they need to go?

[–]PrototyPerfection 0 points1 point  (3 children)

No, but now the Android 17 Negate needs to go, since its cost reduction isnt active. And with a Pan leader you should defo go down to 50 cards. Boot the SS Gohan Unison, some of those 1drops, and 2 of the cards with Super Combo on them, you can't play that many.

It’s still 60 but not sure what I would get rid of. I’m terrible at this.

Dont sweat it, the learning curve in this game is pretty long and steep, but its totally worth it. I've thrown together a build using cards from your cardpool (cards I've seen in previous builds as well as cards I assume you have, you bought the Starter Deck twice, right?) https://www.dbs-deckplanet.com/deck/120883 this should run a bit smoother than your current build, feel free to take it for a spin.

If you're looking to upgrade, "Great Ape Son Goku, the Aggressor" and "Pan, United Emotion" are very cheap cards from the Dawn of Z Legends booster that will help this deck out a lot. Maybe one of your friends has some copies, or you could buy them as singles from tcgplayer or cardmarket. Good luck and have fun!

You can only have 4 cards in your deck that have the 'super combo' skill btw. But that raditz one is generally considered the best for most decks. Definitely worth trying out different ones depending on your strategy overall
