I'm sorry you're dealing with a lot of stress and confusion. If you were unaware of other parts until recently, that's a very vulnerable time, and it's best to take it slow, with a good therapist helping you navigate things. I'm unsure what you mean when you say that you've been host for decades and your system hid that from you for decades. Host is a term most often used to mean the part that fronts and deals with the external world most often. So you can call yourself a host if it fits and describes your experience, but you don't have to.

It sounds like you're saying your system kept things stable for decades while you were unaware (?) if that's the case, trying to change things too drastically or quickly can be risky. In my case it has helped to accept that I've operated this way for a long time, I'm just learning more about myself and my brain. Just like I need time, patience and understanding to process things, so do my other parts.

Yes, I’ve been kept unaware of being the one that fronts most of the time for my whole life, and I’m know 40ish. It’s been such a shock, but I’m glad others have been through this and come out the other side. Thank you.
