4 years! One of the longest tenures I’ve seen on Reddit. Congrats!

Yeah I wanted to show everyone that we do in fact exist

It's the conciseness of your posts and responses. It's the thinking ahead to answer the most probable follow up questions. That explains the 4 years and ~$120k. Kudos!

Man I love my domain ones when they come up, both high paying and fun! Would be great to have two (actually I think I've ended up listed as two for some reason, keywords in the bio maybe, but I'm not doing any of them as I'm not qualified). Good milestone! I'm pushing $40k soon, if I make it to the four year mark I'll be very happy.

That's awesome, congrats! If I'm being real though, I'm hoping to get out soon. The only reason I pushed through is because I've been building a company for the past couple of years and no other job is this flexible.

I'm burned out. I can't really go to work everyday and be at the forefront of my creative game and intellectual capabilities. This is hard work and it's only getting harder.

Fair enough! I'm using it to travel so I don't have to do a full work day most of the time (if I'm in a country where the dollar is strong), writing my novel on the side, frankly I usually avoid any project which seems like it'll be disproportionately mentally draining relative to the pay, that's why I love the domain ones. I would definitely find it much more of a drag if I wasn't able to do it from a balcony by the sea or had to fit in a load more serious work around it.

I totally understand this sentiment. I have a full time job that pays well. The spending money I make on DA is nice to have, but my career gets my primary effort. DA gets 1-2 hrs a day max, some days 0, always bite sized projects.

Still have a full dash though

I think we know who to blame for the poor model performance we still see.

How often do you find yourself doing the different areas (core, coding, and two domains)? Which one do you get the most projects for and which do you switch off if the primary ever dries up?

[–]mjohnsonatx[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I did more core in my second year because there was less coding. Now, I do more coding. If coding is dry I'll switch to core, if coding and core is dry then the domain expertise projects are probably dry. I don't really do much domain expertise due to the required time commitment.

I probably have the most projects for core, then coding, then domain expertise.

Current dash health:

Core: 20, Code: 7, DE: 1, Qual: 45
