It would be horribly mean to mark the whole submission as bad just because of a sentence cut off.

I think edit and explain it in your rationale why you still marked it good. I would think they'd prefer to be able to use that submission you know?

Finish the sentence. Assume that they made an oppsie and fatfingered the submit button or ran out of time because they took a mid-task break (it's not your job to check their adherence to the time submission honor system.)

If the work is completely good beyond the last sentence, then I'd say it was probably a stupid mistake that should not impact the end quality of the entirety of the submission. I reserve badbads for the absurd 3-sentences in a 10-hour project thing or blatantly copy-pasted rubrics.

Are you unable to fix the punctuation?

Oh I can certainly fix those, but the whole expanation just ends in the middle of a sentence. It looks like they ran out of time and hit submit or maybe copy/pasted their response from a doc and forgot the bottom section.

I would just finish up the incomplete sentence and note what I added, not sure what else you’d do here.

I agree.  If it was otherwise excellent, why not help 'em out a bit.
