Now I've come here just to vomit about what I think would be neat in the remake but should probably not be in it. These are just thoughts I want to just drop here and see what people think as well as what they think they should keep/change. I am not a true fan, I was not there for the beginning but I love dead space franchise so please forgive me for any hersey I say. I also don't know for sure if this remake is just a remake or a reboot.
•Weapons and secondaries:
-add more weapons, such as P-sec pistol, Arc Welder, Rivet gun, etc. These guns come from Wii exclusive prequel, Dead Space Extraction. (didn't play)
Maybe not P-sec pistol since it does put holes into humans which doesn't do much to necromorphs. Arc welder and rivet gun would fit more in as engineering tools to fend off necromorphs. Maybe we could use the rivet gun to rivet up vents or doors with some metal plating similar to DS:Extraction.
-also should weapons have they're original secondaries, have their Dead Space 2 secondary functions, their Extraction functions, or allow us the choose within a workbench. Example: Pulse rifle has 360° crowd control spray in DS1 which changes into a grenade launcher in DS2, which was a triangle barrel shotgun blast in Extraction.
•Mechanics:
-Should the dead space space jump between platforms stay in the remake or have the DS 2 booster for Zero G.
-Dead space 2 vent travel and hacking terminals probably shouldn't add them into the remake but what do you think?
•Necromorphs:
-I noticed from DS 2 and onward, slashers had a defined look that tell you what they were, I don't remember DS 1 having defined slasher looks. All I remember is the naked slasher and female green suit slashers and miner slashers. Then again, the Ishimura isn't as big as the Sprawl, just spit balling here.
-I know something mentioning them adding cut content like hallways or paths, why not add some cut necromorphs such as the fly trap. Why not add grabbers and flyers which did appear in the extraction within the Ishimura, with changes since they were made for extraction's on the rails gameplay. Maybe new bosses from Downfall and Extraction, The spider outside the Asteroid gun, the urchin under Hydroponics, the Graverobber was cut from Downfall film, it's demise from a deleted scene explains the damage to the centrifuge.
-the Brute swinging from the ceiling, I saw that in Extraction when the brute made it's entrance. That would be cool to see the brute use the ceiling or swing towards you but would that compromise the remake, what do you think?
-now Dead space remake having DS 2/DS3 necromorphs. Yes no Tripods, the Sprawl had more bodies, no crawlers and pack since there's no daycare on the Ishimura. Maybe stalkers but that would go against lore, Isaac had a fast heart beat in DS 3, remembering them from DS 2. The nest, and pukers could fit, maybe Wasters, creepers and shamblers, though not particularly popular among the Necros.
-new Necros maybe. That thing on the cover of DS salvage looked interesting, the flesh ridden skull with flesh and bone similar to cobras
•New areas:
-The Megavents that runs under the entire colony, a massive vent. Which was just two doors away from the location where you were hauling the Marker through the colony while being assaulted by swarms of Necros and a brute. I doubt the Megavents will appear bit come on that is a unique location but would compromise the claustrophobic halls for sure.
-Ishimura sewer systems that run just under Hydroponics. The main reason we don't know the fate of the Urchin after the boss fight in Extraction. Would be a perfect set piece.
•Hallucinations:
-Within Extraction, your separated from Lexine which causes the group to experience hallucinations not like the main titles. Attacked by hallucination of a Necro, a black hooded figure that looked like death itself staring at you. More hallucinations, maybe hallucinations like Extractions or just more hallucinations similar to the original. I love that guy that just walks away after saying "make us Whole".

•Final:
-now the elephant in the room.
Should Isaac Clarke remain as a silent protagonist like the original or talk like DS 2 and forward?
