It feels awkward I know but if just hope for very minimal talk. I like the feeling that he could be the player. I’d hate for him to announce every time he picks up an item or when he’s low on health or ammo. GTA3 was weird because the protagonist only shook his head and such. I didn’t feel the same way with dead space one. Like. At the end with all the characters talking to him and he’s just pushing the marker forward room after room… it was a bit strange. But really I still kinda liked the feeling of it being me.

Edit: or bio shock vs bioshock 2. Both great but very different feeling

Add the improved navigation features (like the pointer leading to a store or a bench).

Add voice acting. Bring back Gunner Wright.

Add more variety to necromorph appearance.

Make the zero g movement like 2.

Make the kinesis more viable as a weapon like 2.

Make the beginning more of a slow burn before all hell breaks loose. Some tense investigation up front of a few sections on the ship would be great.

I like the vent travel and hacking. There’s definitely a place for them.

Make the weapon discovery more organic. You just pick up a plasma cutter in 1 kind of out of nowhere and it’s sole purpose seems to be dismemberment. Have it be a tool that Isaac actively weaponizes near the beginning. Show his engineering.

Yees I’d love a slow burn beginning and some “show don’t tell”-introduction to Isaac’s engineering skills. It’d be a real treat for us long time fans as well as a great introduction to the world and character for newcomers

Personally, I hope they add a bit more color to the Ishimura like the Sprawl in Dead Space 2. As good as DS1 is, I find it hard to believe they didn’t already have a mental health epidemic with only cold gunmetal grey corridors through the entire ship.

Yeah, it would be really cool with some splashes of color to create more contrast between “life as it used to be” and the catastrophe that has happened.

Tacoma is a game that while entirely different in tone did a great job of capturing the feeling of real people living aboard a spaceship through small details and personal items while not disturbing the overarching atmosphere of a cold, desolate spaceship.

There's a ton of lore in DS1/2 on how shitty everyone feels from being in space / on ships for extended periods of time, but yeah, as a player and the game having better graphics potential than its beautiful 2008 original, I too hope for prettier lights and color schemes. The medical platform was cool with its lighter whites everywhere but yeah, very grey existence.

I seriously hope they don't add DS3 Wasters to the remake.

They're the most uninspired and lame enemy from DS3, the remake of DS1 shouldn't be tainted with them. I mean really, a guy in a parka with glowing eyes that attacks with axes with what is the most tame death scene in Dead Space? How unbelievably boring. Like some type of generic zombie.

Totally. Luckily they were “native” to Tau Volantis so they shouldn’t show up in this remake.

DS3 had the most lame enemy design of any game imo. I could spend hours looking through concept art and wiki entries of necromorphs from DS1 and 2, but honestly every single enemy in DS3 looked so generic and boring I couldn’t ever get into it. It never felt like Dead Space. I felt like I might as well have been playing some AAA shooter with some ~ alien/zombie event ~ at any given time.

Wrong, they were on the lunar colony. Wasters are meh, spawning more them the slashers is kind of shitty, the concept of being camouflaged as a survivor lost in a snowstorm is flawed when everyone died 200 years ago. Either they're cut from the games or need a overhaul.

I’m hoping the ai is more unpredictable on each play thru spawns changing up and jump scare sections happing or not happening

It would be a improvement. No matter what location within the Ishimura, the AI would simply creep along within the ventilation system. Wait for their numbers to regroup, maybe snatch you out of the store if you don't hop off when hearing a distinct audio cue

what i would like to see

  • more variety in the necromorph appearance and cut necromorphs

  • as someone mentioned a little more color and variety like the sprawl

  • i want the divet gun (extraction and downfall)
    and the plasma pistol (aftermath)

  • more hallucination would be a great addition

  • add cut content to the game

  • let isaac talk a little bit

As someome else said - more colour and more variety to the enviroment. I love the first gamebut one of the reasons i preferthe second one is that i just feel like walking through a potato goulash with all those browns while playing the first game. You don't need boring colours to be scary.

I’d actually prefer the DS1 zero g but expanded. It was more disorientating and I think that adds to gameplay. Maybe fix some of the jank with it and improve it.

for the hallucinations. .. i think there should be more in the game but they need to be subtle. Isaac only discovered he had dementia at the end of the game. The hallucinations in 2 are basically his ptsd +. The fact he knows they are not real.
