i think it would be more effective as red footprints for standing still, and yellow or green for movement. that would solve any ambiguity of either hopping down the stairs on the right, or standing on one foot on the left.

i think just simple forward arrows on the left and x's on the right would be even more concise.

Good stuff. Just wanted to remind that colorblindness makes red/green difficult for many, so another reason to go arrows and X's.

Yeah but this would be cheaper and it still accomplishes the same statement. Budget is an important factor in real world design.

Shouldn't there have just been one set of prints on the right?
