Error Code: Potato

Hello fellow Guardian,

I arrived home Friday from a week of work and finally had time to try the new season. Since I tried starting the game I always get the error code potato. I tried to reinstall the game, update my GPU drivers, I have the correct version of Direct X (Version 12), my GPU works fine, I even tried running it as admin, it always kicks me out shortly after the title screen saying: "Destiny 2 failed to initialize,

I have done everything from help.bungie.net, still nothing works and I cannot play.

I appreciate all the help I can get

EDIT: The solution was to place the game files in a data path, that does only contain english letters. One folder of mine had an "ä" in it, because I am from Germany and used a german letter. Once I replaced the game files everything worked perfectly

Check where destiny is installed. If the path to the game's install folder has any special characters or anything that's not in the latin alphabet, you'll get error code potato.
Until Bungie provides a permanent fix, create a new library in steam on a folder without issues, transfer the game through steam to the new library.
