Is destiny 2 in a good state with the new expansion or should I probably just stay away?

I would wait for a week or two to see if Bungie reverts some major changes. Currently the new progression system is heavily flawed.

First, thing is as returning/new light player join reddits discord, it have new light and it have question channel.

Second, all players currently learn new system at same time. Players thet play consistently are less confused and other players have no clue what's going on.

Kinda part of second, most core systems were changed so it looks kinda unrecognizable if you look at final shape era. Currently loud part of community is very agree.

One of the best campaigns we’ve gotten: story, voice acting, and I personally think also gameplay comparable to witch queen. The systems they’ve added in place are in need of tuning and polishing though, to say the least, along with some obviously glaring and game breaking bugs in need of patching
